Matt and Trey aren’t stupid. They’re goading Paramount into canceling their run. Pulling this shit episode ONE of a 50 episode deal with Paramount totaling $1.5 billion is not a mistake. The episode was meant to get Trump royally pissed to prove that either Paramount is beholden to him and his wishes or they’ll keep South Park on the air for another 49 eps. If Paramount is beholden to Trump, they get what they want: no more South Park and an easy $1.5B (sued and paid out via contract). If Paramount is not beholden to Trump, the episodes get more and more ridiculous and critical, if only to prove canceling Colbert, among other things that have happened under Trump’s media attacks, is absolutely ridiculous bullshit. Never did I think I’d live to see the day that Americans were rallying behind a political take in a South Park episode.
