Final Score: Frank PR 6 – 3 TVC Group

For TVC Group, read Laura Robson. Under the amber skies of the City of London Academy, Bermondsey TVC’s valiant efforts in taking on a technically superior Frank side were destined to end in brave defeat. The final score finished 6-3, after an 80 minute tussle that saw the lead change hands on several occasions, before a late flurry of goals delivered a somewhat flattering score-line to the side from the North end of Mandela St.

Special mention to the TVC debutants, with Blackmore and Slisik adding a much needed physical presence to a squad that had previously comprised some of the agency’s tenderest souls.  Counter-attack goals from Miller & Vickers had given TVC early hope of an upset, only for the tie to get away from them as the night drew in.  The game was played in a good spirit, ended with handshakes all round and an improved relationship between the Camden neighbours.

As with the Olympics, it is hoped the legacy of the match will be increased participation. This game saw an unprecedented level of interest amongst the gents of TVC, with up to 4 players keen to play but unavailable due to prior commitments. Plans are already afoot for a series of matches against a number of different agencies.
