For the most part, Manuel tended to look at things cynically and plan for any possible outcome. Of course humans were unpredictable, and could flip like a switch, he knew that as well, but planning meant he could normally quickly figure out a solution. But the one thing he had no idea how to handle was the Mellina’s returning to town, and with Hector’s unknown child in tow. He’d planned to stay out of that as much as possible. Of course he loved his niece, even if she was a surprise, but he was under no illusion that this would go the way her parents wanted it to. And now Celi had dragged him into it, even if she told him that she’d take the fall, the minute in affected the cartel, he would change history. Didn’t matter if they hated him, no one else wanted to do his work. The one thing he did know was that he wouldn’t show his hand just yet. So when Fran and Bree came into the shop, he pushed it down, least for now. “Hey kiddo” he said to Bree, wishing she wasn’t caught up in this. “Dare I ask, actually shopping for books, or?” this time to Fran, hoping it would appear that he didn’t know what was going on. @franmellina
