What are your thoughts on the song Labour by Paris Paloma

That song hits like a hammer.

The way someone can be treated like a household appliance and a therapist and a caretaker all at once… while being told it’s “normal,” or worse, being told it’s love. The lyrics about “weaponized incompetence” and “dominance under a guise” really stick with me, because it points at something people don’t always have words for: when someone chooses not to carry their share and lets or forces the person they claim to love carry everything. Because it’s not only about one relationship. It’s about inheritance. About watching a cycle repeat unless somebody breaks it.

To me, it’s a reminder that love isn’t proven by how much you can endure. Love is mutual effort. Respect. Accountability. If someone is making you smaller, making you tired, making you feel trapped- if your life is all labor and no care... then you’re not asking for too much by wanting better. You’re asking for the bare minimum.

No one owes anyone their exhaustion. You deserve rest, and safety, and a love that doesn’t come with a job description.
