art-austria art fair, 3–6 April 2014. Initiation of a dialogue between two distinctly pronounced positions in the Austrian field of contemporary art. The clear aesthetics of Michael Kienzer’s sculptures, affected by their materiality of industrial raw products, structure and accentuate the space in which Franz Graf responds with new paintings and drawings though estranging intermingling figurative motives, text and ornament in black and white. This encounter reciprocally brings forward the subtle sensuality of Kienzer’s installations and the sometimes tragic Eros in Graf’s figurations. +
