Obligatory Bamboozle Post
the story so far. ugh they were so great, it was my first time seeing them and even though i'm not a mega fan i'm definitely checking them out when they come back to the east coast. great band, great energy, and awesome crowd
the wonder years. i've been waiting for ages to see them, and it was so worth it. great crowd, flawless setlist, and SOUPY. he came up right to the barricade god bless that man's soul. he's just perfect.
the maine. obviously they were perfect because they're the maine. but it was so weird to see them on the giant stage. idk if any of my followers were there, but if you look at pictures of the main stage asldkfjld my babies. last time i saw them was at grammercy, which is pretty small and intimate. they had screens on the side and i still can't believe they've grown so much. proud momma.
motion city soundtrack. we met up with a bunch of friends during their set and kind of chilled for a while. they were good, i'm not that big of a fan but still it was nice to see them again after four/five years.
all american rejects. i was a huge fan when i was in middle school, so it was kind of fun to see them. they played all the big songs and it was fun to sing along and hang out with friends. plus tyson's pants were magical and i want them so bad AND HIS BULGE i could see it from where i was standing.
jimmy eat world. no word can describe how amazing it was to finally see them. cried through all of their songs, no shame no shame whatsoever. and gunz was behind us drunk as fuck.
my chemical romance. i sat on the beach and kind of flailed around to their old songs dancing like an idiot. that was kind of nice too, since we had a really long day
the foo fighters. dave grohl is a god so it was awesome to see them play. we were on the beach for their set, and the sun was setting so it was absolutely perfect. i got the feeling that one day i'm going to tell my kids "oh yeah, i saw the foo fighters on the beach and it was magical, and dave grohl got behind the drums and played them". just magical
the story so far again. this was even better than friday. we got separated and i was standing next to a bunch of bros and this 15 year old kid behind me starts complaining about crowd surfers. so before the bros can do anything i turn around and say "you're such a pussy. if you can't handle it then get out". the bro next to me turns and nods and is all "i respect you. i'll make sure no one lands on you" AND NO ONE DID it was perfect. i felt like such a bro. plus at that point i was pretty angry because of other things and pop punk just makes me want to punch someone in the face.
bayside. we just kind of sat around at listened to them. we didn't have anyone else to see for a while, and we were exhausted. i can't wait to catch them at warped though
gaslight anthem. holy shit holy shit hometown heroes. seriously, new jersey is home to some shitty music, it's nice to be able to say "oh yeah, those guys are from jersey too". it was the first time i've ever seen them, and they were just perfect.
BRAND NEW. brand new was just perfect and beautiful. the only problem was they opened for bon jovi, so there were butthurt mega bon jovi fans that were pissed that people were trying to get to the front of the stage. they didn't understand that as soon as brand new was over we were going to leave. they kept shoving us and being ridiculously immature. i swear to god, they're just grown up hustlers. but brand new was perfect, and even though i was groped by some ugly not tom falcone ginger and we all got separated and it was hot as fuck it was so so so worth it. plus jesse lacey got the words to jesus christ wrong and somehow that just made it even more perfect.
bon jovi. now before i get any shit, i do like some of his songs. however, it was not worth 2 hours of sitting on the boardwalk wanting to shoot myself in the face. maybe i was still pissed at his fans or i was just exhausted from the entire weekend, but we literally sat there and waited for him to end. plus they're the reason why brand new had such a short set.
all in all, this weekend had epic highs and epic lows. my freak kelly (smelleyphant) got her camera stolen. we know who did it but she's refusing to admit she did it. whatever, we gave her a chance to give it back but she didn't, so we're involving the police. the minimum sentencing is a huge ass fine, and since the girl probably already has a record she'll serve some time in jail. i hope she does, the girl is a wreck and needs to see where her life is taking her. anyways, send love to kelly. or donate money. or if you have a nice dslr camera laying around send it to her. she's a great photographer (kellysworphotography), she's shot 1d and some really great bands. there's a special place in hell for people who steal things like cameras and band gear. this girl could have stolen our laptops, but kelly actually uses her camera. she was booked for a shoot yesterday morning and was getting paid, but because her camera was stolen she couldn't. kelly isn't some 16 year old girl who thinks they're a great photographer because her picture of her "Wreck this journal" has 100+ notes on tumblr.
but besides that, i'm so upset this weekend is over.
