Balthier sighed. Yeah, maybe he should have, but if there was one thing he truly didn’t want, it was to show his VULNERABILITY. He didn’t even want to do it in front of Fran, and she was the person he trusted the most in the entire world. Anyway, the way he felt about her was silly. They weren’t even the same species, and Viera had a much longer lifespan than humans. There were so many reasons why they would be better as friends. Balthier nodded. They hadn’t exactly put words on the bond they shared yet, but he knew he cared for Fran more than he had cared about anyone else before. So of course, if she needed him, he would be at her side, without any hesitation.

“I honestly feel better when you’re around, too.” He admitted with a brief chuckle. “So of course, I’ll stay with you.”

Balthier chuckled softly at these words, but she was right. It was almost a gift that they were living at the same time. Fran was his PARTNER in every possible way, his other half. No one understood him the way she did.

“You’re right.” He assured as he gently took her hand within his. “I wouldn’t change my life with any other else’s.”
