had a dream they added an update where dragons you exalted could randomly drop any item in the game and dragons with bonus had a higher chance of dropping a rare item. the day one breed bonus was imperials and people went absolutely insane demolishing the population. meanwhile I exalted some tundra who had the gene (idr which, maybe gembond?) and it dropped a silhouette scroll and I just stared at the screen thinking "awh. he was trans and never got to come out :("

Some new-ish player hatched a good combo G1 of these ugly fucks and I informed them of the price range and bought it from them. They were so sweet and shared with me what they bought with my 5kg. They went to a hatchery and bought such a pretty dragon and changed it into a vigil and bought it genes and told me ‘I made one I really love’ 🥹 I was so heartwarming y’all.

I find it really funny when I buy a baby to make into a fandragon and it happens to be from a fancy hatchery. Sorry about the baby from your bespoke pair called memories of midnight roses or some shit, he's goku now

Nothing but sugar to the crepe game. I'm 30-ish years old and I've never touched any games like this kind before. You say there's a papa and he's had several establishments? Never heard of him. Anyways, this is my first go-around on this genre and I am addicted. I feel like the caveman who just discovered fire. I hope the dragons get even MORE RUDE to me so maybe I have a reason to get their orders wrong for once.

so, looking at NPCs, we see that majority of them are entirely basic or have only 1-2 patterned genes.

furthermore, the average NPC patterned gene is typically something something common and not particularly eye-catching.

which has led me to two possible conclusions for canon:

1. patterned genes are quite rare and dragons with a full set of 3 are not often seen; plus, colourful genes such as fla/fla are even rarer. So our triple-gem-gened dragons are all legendary fabled status because of how cool and rare they are.

2. or... most dragons just don't gaf about shiny complex genes, preferring subtle patterns & basics (ex. swipp and co are definitely more than capable of acquiring gene scrolls, yet remain mostly basic), and patterned genes in general are more like a fashion trend thing. So the average triple-gem-gene dragon just looks like they're wearing copious amounts of gucci
