I opened the door to a stranger

My mom left a few hours ago and the kids are at school so I’m taking advantage of the silence by filling it with musicals almost full blast. It’s fun.

Well the doorbell just rang. I can’t exactly pretend I’m not home if the music is on. So I grabbed a chair to look out the top of the door glass since we don’t have a peephole (serious design flaw right there). The chair clunked a little. I saw that there was a guy out standing by the door. It wasn’t UPS because they already came by with a package. I couldn’t tell why he was there so obviously I shouldn’t open the door for strangers. But he was cute looking.

Stupid Clarissa will die in any action/horror/animated/any movie. I opened the door. He was here for exterminating bugs but even I’m not dumb enough to let him in the house. He said he had sprayed stuff on the lawn and threw out exterminating jargon. I said my mom isn’t home (how grown up is that, right), and so I couldn’t make any decisions.

Literally as he walks away, I see a spider on the glass door. I let out a little squeak and slapped the door a little. As he’s still walking away. The irony.
