Meanwhile, Mayor Fisk so regularly gets blood on his crisp white suit that he just has a whole fancy set ready in the car for a quick change.
But oh boy, was it a blast!
The Fisks sure know how to throw a party.

The scene in Karen's mind was sweet. It's Karen & Matt, pre-everything, at their most wholesome... But we see later that it's actually them after everything.
Wilson's look to Buck after he tells him about Daniel carries so much weight. In the original scene, this would've been Buck lying. "They think that my grief has clouded my judgement. Do you believe that?" OH LORD, did Vincent really slip? Buck says no like the yes man that he is, but there's a chink there. It's a yes.
Law practicing McDuffie crumbs. :) Not really Psychiatry practicing Heather Glenn. :) Matt interrogating the woman he ghosted is steps upon steps of messed-up. Loved seeing Heather get unraveled by these events especially when she chops Hochberg later on, but I'll still prod Matt for being a dique.
"Wilson Grant Fisk." Beautiful! Hear me cheer? His fan service-y monologue was such an old man move. "That was lovely, Mr. Mayor." Unprompted, too. He's playing for the cameras and he's really good at acting. It's perfect as both his cover and a symptom of his delusion.
Matt's play is to peel himself until Wilson falls apart along with it. Wilson's kingdom of lies finally collapses when the man himself collapses. His missteps become clearer now. He also brings up Vanessa in his doublespeak, words that sound good, mean well, but are far from the truth. Matt notices Fisk's pain and then clocks the Mayor's Speech Machine. He outlines Fisk's wrongdoings and steps on his nerve. Matt brings up the Fisk Trust Industries, brings up Red Hook, Fisk's obsession with Daredevil. "You don't get to know what comes through our port." Our? Bro, Vanessa is dead.
Matt has power behind him, the governor and JJ, the same way Wilson has the AVTF. Matt and crew play for the cameras, they utilize the public, placed them in the jury and inevitably, the executioner role as well. Matt makes the sacrifice play and reveals he's Daredevil. I loved it. Teary eyes and all.
Wilson sitting as a witness to his own downfall, was satisfying. The Kingpin has little left. Buck and Heather look pissed, they both hate to see him lose. Same. Heather seems to be grappling with the fact htat Matt was Daredevil all along. Meanwhile, only Fisk really grasps the burden that Matt has undertaken "You've won nothing, Mr. Murdock.", but he doesn't accept how it reflects on himself since he still clings to New York.
Fisk's masked hitmen... Are they Arty's stuntmen? The build and the way the Bullseye poser pulled out his gun made me think of Buck. I'm betting that it's supposed to be him, then they rewrote it.
Buck's holding out, his aide is loyal as fuck. Surely he's a wanted criminal next season for offing Daniel. BB makes her final propo and unveils herself, dedicates it to her Uncle Ben and sweetly, to Daniel.
The AVTF is also loyal as fuck for some reason. IMO between the gun I'm holding and the mayor who can crush my head, I'd rather use my gun and shoot the Kingpin. But I guess if it's Fisk here vs. Bullseye there, you'd chose to listen to Fisk here. I'd also rather fall to the Resistance, at least I'm not dead. It's what Cole North does, -ish. "Let them in!" Now, there's little red Daredevils running excitedly to their deaths.
Heather's corruption is complete, and it's after the idea of Matt is completely spurned. Her allegiance stays with the clearly corrupt Fisk and Buck who cares for her personally. Sheila makes her loyalties clear. As Fisk's work wife left hand, she speaks bravely. Good on her.
Kingpin gets check-mated in front of New York, a conclusion to this chess game. The Resistance takes down his queen, his pawns, his knight, bishop, rook, everyone in his court, until he's left in this corner to fight alone and to kill for certain.
Wilson goes into a murder-spree and it's a what the fuck and why the fuck moment. His careless, senseless rage and his violence is unhinged. Tiny Angela is a very aggressive tigress, Karen knocks people out, JJ has leaps. Matt doesn't rush to save a hallway of screaming protesters for some reason?
Hearing Wilson's voice break felt as real as it did when it happened in episode 5, he feels deeply and he mourns. Also, he doesn't cry, he just sweats it out. They make yet another deal and it's no deal of the century. I think the insincerity of it, the fact that this cycle will happen again, is made clear when Wilson doesn't shake Matt's hand.
The peace and cleanliness evident in New York's plot-signifact sites is a breath of fresh air.
The neon light-up rose at Karedevil's fav Indian restaurant gets to me in a sinister way, just because it's Vanessa's. It connects the loveline of Karedevil and the Fisks. One is dead, which means the other lives. Invitably, as long as Wilson's fighting for Vanessa's sake, there would always be hurdles for the writers to write along the KD road. Karen and Matt as friends, that's my Karedevil. If they do go down this endgame route, Karen and Matt should commit. She's accepted his inmate status. Is she a prison wife now? We'll see if this friends-with-benefits thing works out that way. The dissonance between who they were and who they've become is still there, so we dunno why and how they're together! Not enough time!
Oh hey! JessLuke! Danielle really takes after Jess and that's absolutely great casting. Ellison! BB is officially a Bulletin journalist! They used a real selfie of BB and Daniel and it's cute as heck. I wish they did that for the Fisks! Mr. Charles (?) Robertson (?), I really thought would be blackmailed or whatever. Dex finally having a proper job is good, I guess. The what-could've-beens nag at me. Matt's prison official! Heather's latest emotional breakdown makes her accept the calling of Muse. She's scot-free? Yay. I hope Buck is okay. He's probably resting in one of her other rooms or recovering in private. Fisk is in exile, probably in Hawaii or wherever Fisk Island is. He's helpless and alone and definitely not Mayor material. Glad he's done with that. This new painting he reflects at is blue. The color of death.
I know many people hate the glares and the backlighting, but I'm really into it. They upped the color symbolism, made their own thing! Among the many improvements of this season is its visual consistency. Unfortunately, the format changes are still clunky.
The 8-ep format makes for a movie, and the climax is great. I can follow along narratively, while still criticizing some parts. Congratulations to everyone who made this show possible! Whenever I'm not grappling with deficits, I really do like this show.
