Seems like yesterday we were doing their first RPs together. Here’s a comparison shot of one of my favorite scenes from their history, three years ago! And here’s to many more memories.

A soft smile curves the edges of Fredrick’s mouth as the man leans across the plant-strewn desk, his forearms sliding a pair of decorated pots aside as he rests his weight forward. In his warm pale eyes, mischief dances in the overly bright station lights above him and the other man. He taps his index finger against the plastic-wrapped basket. “For me?” Fredrick drawls, his smile seeping through his voice, delight wrapping around each syllable.
“It is only polite to bring a gift when one is a guest,” Valkurius answers, a strength to his voice unwavering in the presence of Fredrick’s amusement.
“S’just a visit t’my official business desk. But-“ Fredrick reaches forward and seizes hold of the wrapped basket of baked goods, before he cradles his arms around the food as if to protect it from being stolen. “Looks like y’already brimmin’ w’the desire t’make new friends, which was why I wanted y’to come around - so I could see how y’were settlin’ in. So I’ll just sign you up f’greetin’ duty f’guests t’the Helios, yeah? An’maybe f’some turns in t’cafeteria, too.”
Valkurius suppresses a sigh. The meddling exile would be the death of him.

Tell me more about Fred! What was he like before he landed on Nexus?
In the still of suffocating, recycled air, only the insistent clicking of the clock hung along the far wall offered distraction from the wailing screeching within his mind.
An entirely different person was Fredrick before he landed on Nexus; he would hardly recognize himself from those days. A frantic, bumbling dock worker without a true place where he belonged, Fredrick lived moment to moment in fear of dominion attacks and arkship malfunctions in his aging, space-faring home. He had yet to develop his many beliefs on the sanctity of life; although he had the kind heart that many know him for today, in many instances he had to suppress those instincts in order to survive.
Fredrick relied heavily on his sister Chloe until soon before their arrival on Nexus; she helped him provide for their ailing mother when his paychecks from manual labor weren’t enough. Their relationship was even more unsettled then than it is now; Chloe had very little trust in Fredrick’s capabilities to be there for their family, despite his love for them - and she was often proven right.
Fredrick prefers to pretend that the first twenty-five odd years of his life were an ongoing nightmare that he only recently woke up from. It’s easier than trying to rectify the past with his current present.

TL;DR: I greatly prefer chatting with people to set up rps in game and out of game, because I only log on in-game for scenes for the most part! And I rarely do big get-to-know-each-other events because they, frankly, quite scare me! so I read about the exercise needed for young kits to grow up healthy and strong, and I don’t think that the playground will be enough for them. a swing set won’t make the kits feel like they’re the best consorts in the middle of an arboreal forest, no no it won’t do at all. instead I’ve attached a basic set of renewed schematics that I hope will work yeah?
Included are a set of neatly drawn blueprints for an unused section of the forest near the village. Several dozen trees are marked for pillowed swatches of leaves and soft blankets to rest along the ground beside their roots, perfect for catching aurin who have fallen from soughing branches. Wooden platforms to extend dangerously thin branches coat the trees as well, and the final designs more resemble the plans for a forest kingdom of tree houses than a reasonable playground for two kits.
nirek and dirtypaw will live as kings. as consorts to the queen herself. it’ll only take around, uh, seventy plat.
