The Burrow was quiet for once, the usual chaos of the Weasley household momentarily stilled. Fred’s room was warm, bathed in the golden light of the late afternoon sun streaming through the window. You were perched on his lap, your legs draped over his, his arms loosely wrapped around your waist. His chest rumbled with laughter as he told you some ridiculous story about a prank he and George had pulled on Percy earlier that week.
“And then,” Fred said, his voice low and teasing, “he actually thought the gnomes had learned how to speak English. You should’ve seen his face—”
You laughed, your forehead resting against his. “You’re terrible,” you said, though your grin betrayed you. “Poor Percy.”
“Poor Percy?” Fred repeated, feigning offense. “He’s the one who left his door unlocked. Honestly, it’s like he wanted us to mess with him.”
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t stop smiling. Fred had that effect on you—he always had. His energy was infectious, his laughter like a spark that lit up the room. And right now, with his arms around you and his lips curled into that familiar smirk, you felt like the world outside didn’t exist.
Fred leaned back slightly, chewing on a piece of gum he’d been working on for what felt like hours. The faint scent of cinnamon lingered in the air, subtle but sweet. You wrinkled your nose, tilting your head as you looked at him.
“How can you still be chewing that?” you asked, gesturing to the gum. “It’s been, like, three hours. It’s gotta taste like nothing by now.”
Fred grinned, his blue eyes sparkling with mischief. “Dunno. Wanna find out?”
Before you could respond, he leaned in, his lips capturing yours in a slow, playful kiss. You could taste the faintest hint of cinnamon, warm and sweet but muted, like the ghost of a flavor. When he pulled back, you wrinkled your nose.
“Barely tastes like anything,” you said, laughing softly. “I don’t know how—”
Fred’s grin widened, and before you could react, he pressed his lips to yours again. This time, you felt the gum slip from his mouth to yours, the faint sweetness blooming on your tongue. You pulled back, mock-offended, but he just chuckled, his hands tightening around your waist.
“There,” he said, his voice low and teasing. “Now you can see for yourself.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help smiling as you chewed the gum, the faint cinnamon flavor mingling with the taste of him. Fred’s hands slid up your back, pulling you closer until your chests were pressed together. You shifted slightly on his lap, your movements slow and deliberate, and Fred’s breath hitched. His hands moved to your hips, gripping you gently as he kissed you harder, his lips capturing yours with a hunger that made your head spin.
The room felt too warm, too small, the air thick with the faintly nauseating scent of artificial cinnamon and the sound of your shared breaths. Fred’s fingers traced the curve of your spine, sending shivers down your back as his lips trailed down your neck. You gasped softly, your hands tangling in his hair as you pressed closer, your hips rocking against his in a way that made him groan.
“Fred,” you whispered, your voice trembling with need.
“Mhm?” he hummed out, breath hot against your skin. His hands slid under your shirt, his touch sending sparks racing through your veins. “You’re so beautiful,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “So perfect.”
You could feel the tension building inside you, lust coiling tighter and tighter as your fingers dug into his shoulders, clinging onto him as his hands continued to flutter across your skin.
And then the door swung open.
“Oi, Fred, Mum needs—” George’s voice cut off abruptly as he took in the scene before him. You froze, your face burning as Fred’s twin stood in the doorway, his eyes wide with a mix of amusement and horror.
Fred, however, didn’t seem fazed. He leaned back against the headboard, his arms still wrapped around you, and grinned at his brother. “Maybe knock next time, Georgie?”
George blinked, then recovered quickly, his trademark smirk spreading across his face. “Sorry to interrupt your… quality time, but Mum needs help with the dishes. Apparently, she doesn’t trust the charms to do them properly.”
You buried your face in Fred’s shoulder, your cheeks flaming. “I’m never leaving this room,” you muttered, your voice muffled.
Fred laughed, his chest rumbling beneath you. “Relax, love. George has seen worse.”
“Have I?” George asked, raising an eyebrow. “Because this is pretty high on the list of things I didn’t need to see.”
“Get out, George,” Fred said, though there was no real heat in his voice. He waved a hand dismissively, his other arm still holding you close.
George rolled his eyes but didn’t argue. “Fine, fine. But if you’re not downstairs in five minutes, I’m telling Mum you’re snogging instead of helping. And trust me, you don’t want that.”
With that, he shut the door, leaving the two of you alone again. You groaned, pulling back to look at Fred. “I’m never going to live this down, am I?”
Fred grinned, his hands moving to cup your face. “Probably not. But I also doubt he’ll remember this by tomorrow.”
You groaned again, burying your face in his chest. Fred laughed, the sound warm and familiar, and pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “C’mon, love. Let’s go help Mum before George starts spreading rumors.”
You sighed but nodded, reluctantly climbing off his lap. Fred stood, stretching lazily before offering you his hand. “Don’t worry,” he said, his grin turning mischievous. “We can pick up where we left off later.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips. “You’re disgusting.”
“And yet, here you are,” he said, pulling you into a quick kiss. “You’re stuck with me.”
As the two of you made your way downstairs, hand in hand, you couldn’t help but think that being stuck with Fred Weasley wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
a/n: i dunno if we vibe with this? its cliche. feedback appreciated! (i dont have a beta lol)

The sound of typing filled the small office, Fred knew instantly that it was the new shop manager, Y/N, she had only just been hired but seemed to spend every single waking minute working tirelessly on the books or ordering.
“Morning” Fred said quietly attempting not to startle her, she lifted her head up and gave Fred an award winning smile. Fred felt his breath get taken away each time she grinned at him, there was something so perfect about her energy that just made Fred want to spend every single waking moment with her.
“Hey Fred, how are you?” She beamed, running a hand through her perfectly curled hair,
“I’m good, you’re looking well” he commented
“Thank you! I thought I’m trying out a new mascara so it must be working” She chuckled, looking up at Fred as he took a few steps closer to her, there was a flash of something behind her eyes something Fred couldn’t put his finger on.
“You’re in early” He said trying to pull his attention back to work, it was far to easy to forget that Y/N was his employee
“Sorry, I should have mentioned it’s just that I knew we had to make another order of Pygmy Puff food, couldn’t let them starve” she chuckled
“I didn’t even notice that” Fred said scratching the back of his neck, suddenly filled with embarrassment that Y/N was doing his job for him
“That’s why you hired me!” She grinned “You shouldn’t have to worry about things like that”
“Still, I’m sorry” Fred said
“You don’t need to be, you’re the boss you’re not supposed to be doing anything” She said
“Not sure that’s totally true” Fred said
“Pretty sure that’s why all managers get hired” she said,
“Look at you two early birds” George stepped into the office and made his way straight to the coffee machine “You know I never will understand why we keep the good coffee in here and not in our flat” He said to Fred,
“Because we like to give our employees a reason to keep working”
“Yeah the coffee’s the only reason” Y/N grinned, hoping Fred didn’t notice the way her gaze lingered on him for a second too long
“Well Georgie we better get opening up the shop” Fred said
“You go, I need at least another coffee before I have to face anyone yet” George said
“I’ll be down as soon as I’m done” Y/N said with a gentle smile
— — —
“Sorry I was so long, the delivery date said they couldn’t deliver before next month, so I had to call up the company - well long story short they’re delivering it tomorrow but before 9 so I’m happy to come in early as I sorted it?” She said
“I couldn’t ask you to come in early, I’ll make sure George is up!” Fred grinned
“I’m sure he’ll be thrilled” Y/N said quietly Fred let out a hearty laugh, Y/N felt as though her heart grew three times as big just from the sound.
“Hey Freddie!” Angelina called as she stepped into the shop, Y/N instantly turned her back to her and busied herself with tidying up the shelf which Fred had already tidied just a few minutes before
“Hey Angie, we don’t usually see you this way, what’s up?”
“Just thought I’d check up on you, I heard you hired a manager” She commented “I wanted to check them out!”
“Well you’re in luck, Y/N?” Fred said tapping Y/N on the shoulder, she turned so Angelina couldn’t see her face but Fred could, her smile had been wiped away and she attempted to beg Fred to not introduce them, but he didn’t quite get her signals, “This is Y/N, Y/N this is Angelina”
“It’s wonderful to meet— Merlin, You’re Y/N!” She said a wicked smile crossing her face
“You two know each other?” Fred asked
“No”
“Yes!”
They spoke at the same time, Y/N silently wishing the ground would swallow her whole
“Freddie you don’t remember do you?” Angelina laughed, “Uncurl the hair and take off the makeup and you’ve got the Y/N I know” She grinned
“What are you talking about”
“Fugly Y/N” Angelina said
“Angie!” Fred stopped her instantly
“Come on Freddie you were the one that came up with the nickname” Angelina laughed
“Y/N, oh Merlin you’re right I do remember now!” Fred laughed, Y/N pushed the tears away from falling,
“You’ve really changed Y/N” Angelina said “Make up really can do wonders, but sadly it can’t change you that much, I can’t believe Fred hired you”
“I’ve uhh got a thing to do” Y/N said turning away from Angelina
“Hang on a second” Angelna said and suddenly Y/N was transported back to fourth year when Angelina made it her goal to ruin Y/N’s life “Freddie, can I ask you something?”
“What?” Fred said, his voice seemed strained but Y/N didn’t pick up on it
“Would you have hired her if you had known this Y/N was Gryffindor’s resident freak?” Angelina asked, Fred hesitated for a second “I guess that’s a no then”
“I have to go” Y/N said hurrying off in the direction of the office
— — —
“You ok Y/N?” George asked kicking his feet off of the desk as she walked in,
“I need to go home” She said, George looked shocked he was never the one who Y/N went to when there was an issue, that was always Fred
“Uh I guess that’s fine, is everything ok?”
“I need to go George” She repeated
“Yeah go, go, just let me know if I can help with anything” George said quietly
Within the second Y/N had disapperated out the room,
“Where is she?” Fred asked bursting into the room
“Who?” George said
“Y/N, where is she?” Fred said hurriedly
“She went home” George said simply “What is going on?” He asked
“It’s Y/N, from school” Fred said
“Y/N?” George asked
“Yeah, Fugly Y/N. You know that poor girl we terrorised for fun? Yeah that’s Y/N”
“Shit” George said as the pieces fell into place
“Angie came and made the connection and it just started again and I need to find her and apologise”
“Fred please tell me you didn’t call her that again?” George asked, his brother didn’t even need to reply George already knew the answer from the way Fred looked at him, “How didn’t we make that connection?”
“Because she’s different now”
“You’ve got a lot of apologising to do, you were the one who made that nickname up”
“Yeah but I didn’t do it because she was ugly” Fred snapped
“Why did you do it then?”
“Because, because”
“Because you liked her and didn’t want anyone else to” George said putting the pieces together
“Look I was young and stupid and didn’t know what else to do” Fred said frustratedly
“You’re an idiot”
“Yes I know, but I need to go and apologise, so just cover me okay?!”
“Yeah fine”
— — — — —
Fred knocked on the door, he straightened his back as the door swung open. He was met with a rather angry looking Draco,
“Go” He said simply
“Malfoy what the hell? Where’s Y/N?”
“We’re roommates, and she doesn’t want to see you so go” he said standing in the centre of the doorway so Fred couldn’t even push through if he wanted to
“How do you even know each other?”
“Well after you ruined her life she came to me, old family friends. You’re not about to hurt her again”
“I’m not leaving, not until I see her”
“Then you’re going to be here a bloody long time” Draco said bluntly
“Here” Y/N’s voice called from further into the house, a letter floated delicately towards Fred
“What is this?” Fred asked as the letter dropped into his hand,
“Her resignation, see it wouldn’t have come to this if you had proved you’ve changed but your hesitation suggests you haven’t so off you go” Draco said
“Y/N please, I need to apologise” Fred raised his voice “I was stupid and young and didn’t know what to do”
“Go” Draco said,
“it’s ok Draco, he’s not going to go” Y/N said coming to the door
“Y/N please just let me explain everything”
“Come in” She said bluntly leading him to what looked like a lounge area, she sat on one sofa and Fred took the seat next to her
“I screwed up, really badly” Fred said
“Why did you hesitate?” She asked
“What?”
“When Angelina asked you if you would hired me when you knew you hesitated”
“No no no, I didn’t hesitate I was still taking everything in, I swear I didn’t hesitate” He said grabbing Y/N’s hands
“I thought we could move past it, but I don’t think I can now. You were the one who made my life miserable because of that stupid nickname”
“Look I’ll admit that I made it up but it’s not what you think”
“What is it then? You were bored and wanted a bit of fun? You were secretly in love with me and didn’t want anyone else to like me? You were—“
“Okay it is what you think, I’m not sure I’d call it love but I liked you back then and Oliver was going around saying he was going to ask you out and it was the first thing that came to mind”
“Please tell me you’re joking” Y/N said “You ruined my entire school life because you liked me?”
“It was stupid and reckless and immature but I’m not that guy anymore”
“Fred I can’t do this, I’ve heard you out so please can you just go now?”
requested: Can you do a Fred WeasleyxReader where they both like each other a lot but neither knows the other likes them but it super obvious to everyone. So George decides to pull some elaborate prank to get them together?

He was living in actual hell. There wasn’t any doubt about it, this was actually hell. George watched as his brother and (y/n) picked at their food, talking about the weather in the least casual voices ever.
George hadn’t minded at first, he actually had thought it was hilarious in the beginning when his brother would blush by (y/n) just being near. Now it just pissed him off when Fred stuttered or did something stupid, hell it was actually embarrassing.
(y/n) wasn’t much better but when she did it at least it was some what cute, Fred just looked like a twat. He would laugh a little to hard at something small or she’d catch him off guard and his voice would crack like he was 13. It was sad.
George shared an annoyed look with Lee and there was a silent agreement that passed between them, they needed to get the two together before they jumped off the Astronomy Tower.
---
George and Lee flopped down on one of the Gryffindor common room’s overstuffed couches and watched the flames dance around in the fireplace.
“ What could we even do?” asked Lee with a huff. He stared cross-eyed up at his bangs where his fingers with playing with the coils, watching with bored fascination as the curl would spring back.
George didn’t respond right away, the cogs in his head were slowly turning as an idea blossomed in his mind, “ Bloody hell, I’m a genius!” he said jumping up.
Lee sent him an incredulous look, “ What is it?”
“ I’m a simple man, Lee-”
“ Bullshit,”
“ - and so is my plan!”
---
(y/n) held her books closely to her chest as she made her way to the library, she was supposed to be meeting her friends so they could begin studying for their potions exam Friday. She rounded the corner but immediately halted to a stop as to not run into someone.
She looked up and felt her stomach do a flip of excitement to see Fred, she needed to get a fucking grip for God’s sake. He was her friend first and foremost. She hadn’t been able to have a simple conversation with him in two months. Every time they ran into each other it was like she wanted to run away, crawl under a rug, and scream.
Fred’s warm brown eyes widened the smallest bit but he seemed to gather his composure somewhat, “ Oh, hey,” he said shortly, “ Heading to the library?”
The slight lilt in his voice went unnoticed by (y/n). She nodded her head and let out a somewhat shrill laugh by accident. She bit her tongue and fought the urge to hurl herself out the nearby window, “ Er, um, yeah,” she chuckled.
“ Potions?”
“ Yeah,”
They sat in awkward silence before (y/n) spotted her friends down the hall. They stared at her with pained expressions on their faces, obviously having bared witness to her and Fred’s interaction.
“ Oh my friends are here, I’ll see you at dinner?” she said quickly with a smile she hoped wasn’t deranged looking but cute.
He nodded his head fervently. “ Definitely!” he said a little louder than intended.
She sent him one more smile before meeting her friends halfway down the hall. Fred walked off in a hurry and the farther away he got from her the easier it was for him to breathe, ‘ That was fucking horrid,’ he thought to himself as he stepped into the Gryffindor common room.
The redhead flopped down in one of the crimson chairs and dozed off, he didn’t know how long he’d been out but he was awoken by Lee bursting into the common room.
Lee looked around frantically before his eyes landed on Fred. He charged toward him and Fred held up his hands, “ What the hell are you on, Lee?!” he shouted.
Lee stopped right in front of him, his chest was heaving and little beads of sweat ran down his forehead, “ I-It’s (y/n),” he wheezed.
Fred jumped out of his chair and pulled Lee upright, “ What is it, what happened, is she okay?!” he asked frantically.
Lee coughed and nodded before clearing his throat, “ Peeves locked her in a broom closet and I couldn’t get it open,”
Fred sprinted into action with Lee hot on his heels, “ Why didn’t you get a teacher?!” he barked behind him.
Lee scoffed, “Oi! Where the hell is any adult when you actually need them?!”
Fred ignored his friend who caught up to him and led the way.
---
George lingered behind a large stone pillar, watching as (y/n) and her friends left the library. After exchanging goodbyes (y/n) turned the opposite toward George.
George to a few steps back, held his breath and spritzed water on his face. He then began running, almost plowing over an unsuspecting (y/n).
“ (y/n)!” he gasped, “ I need your help, It’s Fr-Fred!”
The (y/h/c)’s eyes widened before throwing her stuff down, “ Well c’mon, show me where!” she yelled shoving the redhead in his chest, telling him to get a move on.
George turned around and explained to her how Peeve’s had shoved Fred in a closet and no matter what spell he used he couldn’t get him out. (y/n)’s face was panic stricken and George had to refrain from letting out an evil laugh.
He was sure he was the smartest person alive.
When they got to the broom closet (y/n) immediately took out her wand but was thrown off guard when George snatched it from and her and shoved her in the closet, “ GEORGE WHAT THE HELL-,” She didn’t get to finish before he slammed the door shut.
George’s smile could have put the Grinch to shame and from behind a wall he heard Lee snicker. Lee stepped out from his hiding place, made eye contact with George and that was all it took for the two to let out the most diabolical laughs.
---
“ GEORGE WHAT THE HELL-!”
He slammed the door in her face and it was suddenly pitch black, “ (y/n)?” asked a familiar voice. The person casted Lumos and she was met with the face of one Fred Weasley.
“ Oh my God, Fred,” she sighed in relief, “ You’re alright then?”
Fred sent her a questioning look, “ Why wouldn’t I be?”
(y/n) opened her mouth to speak but then their predicament made her throat tighten, “ Uhmm,”
She basically ignored him and turned back to the door and struggled with the nob, “ George you bastard!” she screamed at the door.
Fred chuckled, “ Can you blame them?” he asked before sitting down on a box, “ We have been pretty repulsive,”
(y/n) spun around looking affronted, “ How?!”
Fred sent her a knowing look, “ I fancy you, (y/n),” he said quietly.
The girl in question heart dropped to her ass and her face felt like it was going to melt off, “ Oh!” she said dumbly,
Fred tilted his head slightly and rested his face on fist, “ Would I be crazy to assume you feel the same?”
Oh God she was going to explode. This was the day she was going to die. Her heart was beating a mile a minute and her stomach churned with anticipation and fear, “ I. . . I do,”
There she said it, she admitted it, now what?”
The two teenagers stared at one another for a moment before Fred stood looking down at her, “ Can. . . Can I kiss you?” he all but whispered.
Of all the times she thought about kissing Fred it hadn’t been in a moldy broom closet, but hell who cares?
She fought back a smile before nodding. (y/n) allowed him to put a hand at the back of her neck and the other on the small of her back. He swooped down and caught her lips in a desperate kiss that took her breath away.
Her arms came up and wrapped around his neck as she pushed herself into him more. The kiss wasn’t intense, if anything it was what a first kiss should be.
Sweet, hesitant, and curious.
After a moment they pulled apart. Both were a little out of breath but stupid smiles rested on their faces.
“ So. . . what should we do to Lee and George?” she asked, placing a hand on his forearm.
There was a devious glint in Fred’s eyes, “ Not sure, “ he began, “ After all, it was in the name of fancy,”

"Okay, Y/n," Ginny grabbed a pastry from the platter which we had stolen from the kitchen and that now laid on a small coffee table in the middle of the Room of Requirement. "truth or dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you to... Wait." She thought about it for a second before leaning on Luna to ask her something. "I dare you to kiss Fred."
"Uh-uh." Fred, who had just moved to the higher table where the drinks had been laid, was quick to respond, "Not happening." shortly after followed by me.
"I'm not doing that."
"You can't skip a dare!" Ron exclaimed outraged.
"I can if I'm over eight years old." I replied, leaning back on the couch with my arms crossed.
"What she said." Fred agreed, raising his glass at me before drinking.
"Since when do you two back out of a dare?" Ginny questioned with a frown.
"Since this girl here" he motioned at me "started dating Pucey."
"What?" Harry asked in shock. "Pucey? Pucey as in Adrian Pucey?"
"Yeah?" I replied.
"You and Pucey?" Hermione raised her brows and gave Ginny a confused look. "I don't quite see it."
"Oi, what's there to see? I'm the only one who has to see it, don't you think?" I responded, slightly annoyed. "And why is no one talking about this bloke's love life?" I pointed at Fred who now stood behind me. "He's dating that Hufflepuff girl too!"
He tsked his tongue. "Not anymore."
"That's... unsurprising." George commented.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Fred questioned suspicious, kicking my leg for me to move aside so he could sit.
His twin snorted. "You know what's supposed to mean." He took a sip from his drink before nodding at Ginny. "C'mon Gin, change the dare— for Pucey's sake." George scanned us both with analyzing eyes before adding, "we don't want Y/n to end up ditching his boyfriend for this twit, now do we?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"YEEEEH" I was already down on the arena, clapping, when Fred landed with a wide cocky grin on his face, his breathing ragged due to the match's intense last few minutes.
I had rushed down the moment the snitch was caught to be the first one to congratulate him, so I was quite breathless too.
"Did you see me up there? Saving the bloody match!" He exclaimed, tossing his broom and bat on the ground in order to catch me when I threw myself to him.
"You were brilliant oh my gosh!" I let out a surprised laugh. The match seemed pretty much lost until Fred's performance came into play. "Oi, don't let it go to your head!" I was quick to add, pulling away from his embrace.
"Y/n Y/l/n just said I'm brilliant," He stated, the grin not leaving his face. "it's definitely going to my head."
I groaned, letting my forehead fall against his chest. His heart was beating fast, but I blamed it on the adrenaline of the match.
But what was I supposed to blame on the way my own heartbeat picked up when his hand found the small of my back and casually pulled me a tad closer?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oi," I slid open the door's compartment and scanned it briefly before saying, "everything's full, do you mind—"
"Not at all." Fred rapidly answered, sitting up slightly but quickly returning to his laid back position after I had taken a seat by his side.
I had a brief exchange of words with George and Lee before silence fell upon us; it was quite unsual, yet understandable due to the exhaustion we had been put under during the last semester.
It was because of it that Lee fell asleep, shortly after followed by George. I took the chance to grab my book to avoid giving in to the sleep, though my reading was soon disturbed by Fred's foot tapping over the upholstery of the seat.
"What?" I questioned quietly, my brow quirked at him while my eyes peeked over the book.
"What are you reading?"
"Advanced Potion-Making— what do you want?"
"Rude." I rolled my eyes, making a smirk dance on his lips. He seemed to weigh what he was about to say. "I got you something for Christmas."
"Wait— you what?" He got up, ignoring my shock, and, stretching his hands to reach his bag, he pulled out a small package. "I— you—"
"Speechless, I see." He pointed out amused, handing me the package before plopping back down, his gaze trained on me. "C'mon, open it." His teeth trapped his lower lip in anticipation, and I felt how my blood started to pump violently through my veins before I unwrapped the present. "A little birdy told me you liked... What's it called? Chokers?" I could only nod, speechless at the delicate choker in my lap. "I mean, my hand would have been just as good but you can wear this one in public too."
My face flared up at his words and astonishment was replaced by the usual need to fuck that little bastard up. "I hate you."
"I'm kidding, love." He chuckled, tugging on his sleeves and nodding at the jewelry. "You like it?"
The softness in his gaze made my anger go away as I took another look at the choker. "I love it, but you didn't have to." I scrunched my nose. "it looks very—"
"If you say expensive I'll shove it up your arse so watch your tongue." He warned me, half jokingly and half serious.
"What a way of ruining a sweet gesture." I pointed out, feigning a pout.
"Don't worry, I'll make it sweet again, you'll see—" he pushed himself away from the wall and scooted closer to me, tending his palm. "Give it to me." I obeyed and shifted my position so I would have my back to him. His fingers moved my hair away before his hands carefully placed the strap of velvet around my throat and clasped it. "There." He whispered, putting my hair back in place.
I turned around again without any clue of what to tell him. "I-I'd have gotten you something—"
"Y/n, it's a gift, not a trade." He gave me a warm smile, one that anyone rarely got to see, and my face heated up once more. His eyes seemed to flicker to my lips just for an instant, but he soon averted them from me to check on our peers. "Don't tell them, I won't hear the end of it."
I too peeked at them before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on Fred's cheek. "Merry Christmas, Fred."
The little smile grew into a wide side grin while he casted his face down, fixing it on his hands. "Merry Christmas, Y/n."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was out after curfew, yes, but I wasn't doing anything bad, just visiting my friends in their common room; I only had to be careful and no one would notice me.
Or so I thought.
To my luck, while I was tiptoeing through one of the halls, none other than Fred Weasley bumped into me.
"Shit!" We both took a moment to observe one another. "Alright, sorry in advance." He apologised, taking a peek at the path he had taken before grabbing my hand and pulling me with him.
I didn't hesitate on running with me; I knew he had brought trouble directly to me, and if I didn't follow, I would get detention and, with Umbridge in control, I had to avoid that at all costs.
"Wait wait— Here!" He tapped what I assumed was a camouflaged door and pulled me inside before it could open completely.
We both reached for the door at the same time, shutting it as fast and quiet as possible and stepping back right in time to hear what I assumed was a part of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad.
Fred was so close that I could feel his heavy breath tickling my neck while we stumbled back into the pitch black darkness of the narrow passage.
"Well, that was close." I commented, trying to keep my pants at bay; it was the only sound heard —our pants.
His hands left my biceps to presumably fall limply on his sides, but he didn't step back to put some space between us. I couldn't see anything, but I still turned around and instantly knew his eyes were trying to find mines, just like my fingertips attempted to intertwin with his.
It was a bad idea, but no one had to know; the lack of light in the secret passage would prevent anyone to witness it, even us.
No one would see it, I thought, trailing my fingers up his arm until I reached his cheek.
His own hand made its way to my waist, giving it a squeeze and pulling me to him.
I pushed him away as soon as we heard Filch's cat miaowing at the hidden door, followed by the erratic running of the caretaker.
Fred grunted in frustration. "C'mon!" He rushed me, taking my hand once more and running down the ginnel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were running breathless, hands held, casting spells left and right.
'Don't stop moving' Arthur had said when the part of the castle we were defending fell into the Dementors' claws.
One of the Carrow apparated a few feet ahead of us, sending a Cruciatus in our direction even before we came to a halt in our running.
Fred raised his wand, quick as lightning, shielding us from the curse, and I didn't miss a beat before hexing the death eater, hitting her right in the chest.
Fred spun around to guard my back from another death eater that stood behind us while I, seeing that the Carrow sister attempted to get up, casted another stunning spell at her, only that this time it hit her shield.
Both Fred and I duelled the two Voldemort's acolytes until we managed to take them out almost simultaneously, yet in very different ways.
"STUPEFY!" Fred yelled out loud to enhance the spell's effect.
I did the same, knowing I needed that extra push to take Carrow out only that my spell was way more harmful. "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
Fred turned around, still gripping my hand, to see the death eater's corpse on the floor. "Fuck!" He exclaimed.
"Was that a good 'fuck' or a bad 'fuck'?" I inquired, adrenaline pumping through my veins when I turned to meet the redhead's eyes, sparkling with excitement.
"Definitely a good 'fuck'." We both let out a laugh as if I hadn't just murdered someone. "Kiss me." He demanded; fortunately, I was thinking that same thing, so my lips crashed against his in a rough kiss right after he had finished the sentence.
We both tried to pour into the kiss as much sentiment as possible to let the other know how much we had craved to do that for the last three years. Our hands and arms were wrapped around each other, pulling our bodies as close as possible in the now empty corridor as if the world was about to end; it most likely was.
"Being realistic," I began speaking against his lips, once he had pulled away only enough for us to breathe. "we might be dead by tomorrow," if the situation was a bit different, we would probably be crying, but our little victory had made euphoria flood our hearts. "so know that—"
"I love you too." He finished with a nod.
I nodded back, pecking his lips before untangling by limbs from his and pulling him with me in order to resume our jog away.
Heres a little fluffy fic, with a little angst thrown in there :)
TW: Angst, Fluff, mentions of Fred being an ass
Happy ending
Enjoy :) xx

Y/N sat in the small cafe on the edge of Diagon Ally, she had sat herself away from the window giving her the best way to people watch from a distance. Her coffee sat untouched in front of her, she had stirred in her sugar and eaten the small complimentary biscuit she had gotten but there was a part of her that couldn’t bare to drink it. She wasn’t sure what it was, but the familiar smell of a caramel latte brought back more memories than she realised when she ordered it. She hadn’t dared to drink one for three years, not since she had left her life behind. Yet here she was sitting with one in front of her, but there was something stopping her. Tearing her eyes away from the full cup of coffee she turned her attention back to the people around her.
One person made her breath hitch in her throat. The tall, suit wearing, ginger man who she had once called her own. It had been years, three to be exact since they broke up, she couldn’t stop staring, he looked older and more mature but he still had the same air around him, the kind of feeling that made people just gravitate towards him. She listened to him order his medium vanilla cappuccino with extra chocolate, just how he always liked. She smiled a little at how he hadn’t changed a bit.
“Vanilla Cap for Fred” The waitress called out placing his take out cup on the side, he took it gratefully with a wink to the girl who giggled a response. Y/N let a small sad smile grace her lips, suddenly being overcome with a wash of sadness. She returned her gaze down to her coffee, not daring to catch his eye knowing her words would get caught up before she would even have to chance to get them out. What Y/N didn’t see was the way Fred searched the cafe when he smelt Y/N’s usual perfume, he didn’t even realise the small table in the corner harbouring the girl he had been searching for. Fred shook the thought of Y/N out of his head before returning to his brother.

It had been two days since the ‘coffee incident’ that Y/N had nicknamed it, she couldn’t bring herself to leave her apartment which overlooked Diagon Ally, giving her the perfect spying spot into Fred’s own shop. She remembered back to when she used to spend every single evening stacking shelves and helping Fred with displays, just because she wanted to spend time with him. She would have never believed that they would go three years without even seeing each other back then, yet here they were. She tucked her legs underneath her as she watched Fred leave the shop with George, they locked the door and strolled down the centre of the street, there was a part of Y/N that longed to go and talk to them, just to feel the same love she always used to. But she knew it couldn’t ever go back to the way things were before she left. Pushing all thoughts of the ginger twins out of her mind she decided it was safe to head to the coffee shop and get herself the one thing she had been craving.
A caramel Latte.
The coffee shop was practically empty, Y/N didn’t bother to acknowledge the rest of the customers, she didn’t even bother to turn around when the bell rang signalling that someone else had entered.
“Caramel Latte for Y/N” the waitress called, Y/N stepped forward and took her drink with a thankful smile and a small tip.
“I never thought I’d hear that again” A familiar voice spoke barely above a whisper, Y/N felt her heart plummet
“Fred?” She whispered turning around and finding herself standing far too close for her liking, Fred looked down at her and studied her features, like he always did when he couldn’t read her
“Hey love” He said the nickname rolling easily off of his tongue
“I… I should… uh…” Y/N stopped herself not being able to find a single word in her busy mind
“How was travelling?” George asked tearing Y/N’s attention off of Fred and to himself
“It was amazing, it was um well just what I needed after everything” She said letting her eyes cast down to the floor after the mention of the breakup
“Time heals” George commented noting the shift in tension
“Y/N” Fred said gently “How long are you here for?” He asked
“For good, I’ve just started renting out an apartment above the ice cream shop” She said quietly
“Our ice cream shop?” Fred asked, Y/N instantly felt the tears spring to her eyes. He remembered their stupid dream of owning the ice cream shop and renting out the apartment above it.
“Yeah” She stammered, “I really have to go” She said hurriedly clutching her coffee and walking out of the shop ignoring the calls of both Fred and George.

A knock on the door pulled Y/N out of her intense downward spiral since seeing Fred, without thinking she swung her door open and was met with the one person who she couldn’t bare to see. She quickly tried to close the door but Fred had stepped into her apartment before she could.
“I had to see you again love” He said quietly “I can’t believe you got this place, it’s so you” He smiled
“I wanted to make it mine, it’s home now” She said
“It’s been a while” He said standing awkwardly as Y/N closed the door with him now inside the apartment
“It has”
“Three years, two months and ten days” He said
“You remember?” She asked
“That was since we broke up, I haven’t been able to forget” He chuckled lightly
“Can I get you a drink?”
“Can we just talk?” Fred asked
“I guess” Y/N said taking a seat on the pink sofa, Fred sat next to her. Not daring to get too close, just incase he made her feel uncomfortable, it had been a while since they had even been in the same room
“I still haven’t apologised for that night”
“Fred it’s in the past”
“No it’s not, not when I keep replaying it every night. I shouldn’t have said those things” Fred admitted
“Please Fred I can’t do this”
“You’re not selfish, I was scared of loosing you to the world. I was scared someone else would see how amazing you are and I would loose you for good. Everything I said was a lie, you’re the most incredible person I’ve ever met and I haven’t been able to get you out of my head” Fred paused
“I was selfish, travelling was my dream not yours I never should have asked you to come and leave the shop behind” Y/N said “You were right about that”
“No” He said firmly “You couldn’t be selfish even if you tried love” He paused again “I never thought I’d see you again” he admitted
“Me neither” She said
“I’ve missed you, I know I don’t have the right to say that but I have. The moment you walked out of the shop I missed you, I’ve started seeing a therapist after everything. I wanted to get my anger under control in case you ever came bacK”
“Fred—”
“I hate myself for what I said to you, and I swear it will never happen again”
“Fred you can’t say that, things happen a certain way for a reason”
“Then we met today for a reason, and I don’t know what that reason is but I’m hoping it’s to help me win you back” He said taking her hand gently in his “Please just give me a chance”
“that’s all I’ve wanted to hear for the past three years” She admitted “But Fred I don’t know”
“One date, that’s all I’m asking”
“Fred—”
“I’ll get you a caramel latte with four sugars, just one date love” He said, Y/N smiled at how he still remembered her coffee order
“Just one?” She said
“Just one, I swear. Then we can take it from there” Fred promised
“Fine”
“You won’t regret this love, I swear” He said pressing a kiss to her hand.
