I genuinely love the design for my local Pride this year. For reference, the artist was inspired by the Virginia state flag/seal.
Good things from this year's Pride:
It was packed.
My metamore had her best sales ever at her pottery booth.
Great live music.
Tons of fun clothes and merch.
Bad thing from this year's Pride:
Food trucks were super expensive and mostly not that good. I waited 30 minutes to get a savory crepe, requested the green peppers and hot sauce removed from it, took one bite as the merchant rung me up, and my mouth immediately felt wrong. There were some sort of additional ingredients that involved nightshades not listed on the displayed menu, and I couldn't eat it. The merchant didn't charge me for it, so I ultimately saved $25, but I walked away super disheartened that I spent so much time waiting just to get a $8 mediocre lemonade. My mouth still feels wrong five hours later. My partner had disappointing pizza, but said the falafel truck was pretty good.
The crepe truck was also either pro-Trump or willing to pander to get sales from his crowd, as they had magnets for him and a special crepe for his birthday. I hope the later, considering they were selling at a Pride festival.
