quite often, mandy would come home to find lexie sprawled out on the couch, wearing a shirt that didn’t quite fit, that wasn’t really her style or colour. it didn’t take that long for mandy to realise that it was one of her shirts, and that it happened frequently. lexie is the biggest of thieves when it comes to clothing and even when they’re married, she still manages to steal a shirt or two.
when lexie did finally propose to her childhood sweetheart, it wasn’t anything over the top. it was something simple, because lexie knew of how the milkovich’s dealt with affection, with over the top gestures. so she kept it nice and simple, a proposal in the park, by the small pond, underneath the light of a street lamp. the speech definitely made up for the lack of a scenery, especially when it started to rain half way through said speech but all that mattered to lexie was mandy saying yes.
it might not ever be voiced fully but when lexie was finally accepted into one of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in the country, there was a certain twinkle in mandy’s eye. the same kind of twinkle she got whenever she was proud, whenever she felt strong emotions. coincidentally, that was the first night that they slowed down enough to make love. not sex, not hardcore fucking. but actually making love. that was more than enough for lexie to know that mandy was proud of her. and that meant the world.
