For all the people who want an online tracker for characters
There’s a website called Charahub (note: that’s the link to it, right there) where you can keep profiles of your characters. Why would you do this when you can just keep copies of profiles in your head or notebook or computer? Uh, well, I suppose you could just do that, but then it’s difficult to access the profiles from multiple devices.
Charahub is free, too.
And for that bargain deal of no dollars, you get 100 character profile slots (and you automatically get 2 more for each friend you talk into getting an account, so long as they register through your referral link). These profiles come with options to add in pretty much any information you can think of (including spots for things like backstories and blood type and most traumatic event). You can also add images to your profiles. With the free version, you can add 10 images per profile. And they have forums available to all users, and you can use it to ask questions or interact with other users or find people to write/roleplay with.
If you wanted, you could upgrade to the premium version. I don’t know as much about that part, since I just have the free account. (Pretty sure you can add more pictures than 10 with this, though.)
A few bits of insider information.
Sometimes, the site will go down. Usually, this is because the server is refreshing or because the site is being updated in some manner. Don’t freak out. Give it a bit (which could be a small bit or a long bit) and it’ll come back up just fine. Sometimes, it will go down because so many people are using it. Again, just wait for it to come back. (It’s down as I write this, so we’ll see how long it takes to come back up.)
The programmers are planning on redoing the site soon, but everything will transfer over. One of the reasons they’re doing this is to stop the site from crashing so much. They’re also planning on adding features to let you categorize characters even more (they already have general categories you can place characters in).
If this sounds like it’s something you want, go for it! If it doesn’t sound like your style, hey, that’s okay too. We all do things our own way.
