" New Day"💙✌️ . . . My full name is Helena. As a kid, and still today, lots of my friends and family call me “Lena”, which I love and embrace. TBH, I always felt insecure about my full name, because most people would not pronounce it the way I said it (huh-LEE-nuh). This insecurity ultimately lead me to introduce myself by my childhood nickname for the past three years. Upon reflection, I realize that changing what I call myself because I’m afraid people will mispronounce my full name is a fear based decision-and that’s not healthy. So, from now on, I’ll be introducing myself to others as Helena. All my friends and family who call me Lena, feel free to continue to do so forever, I’ll still embrace it. The love between people cannot be defined by what we call each other.
