What a load of hyperbolic bullshit, all of you!
First, your house isn’t a fucking cage. Jail is. The government are telling us to stay at home, not go to fucking jail. You are more likely to spread COVID-19 by being in jail then you are by staying in your bigger, comfy and more spacious house where social distancing is a cinch as well as having virtually no one to spread your germs to. And nanny state? What the fuck? A nanny state is where they have rules in place to stop you from getting minor cuts and bruises. COVID-19 isn’t fucking cuts and bruises. It CAN fucking kill, of course we need protection from it. Not saying that COVID-19 will 100% kill you, but I don’t want to fucking take my chances. While we’re at it, the Flu y’all keep comparing covid to is also potentially fatal and by taking the measures that stop COVID-19, you’re also keeping the Flu from speading. Yeah, social distancing is killing at least two birds with one stone.
And coming from a student who has done Biology for Years 11 and 12 at school and am going into university next year, coronaviruses, such as COVID-19 and the common cold can supress the immune system, meaning that your body does not remember the virus for real long, allowing for re-infection, which can lead to more damage.
And about the government, I only want to obey them because they have the right fucking ideas. I’m not pro-government, I just happen to agree with them on wanting to make everyone take shelter from the shitstorm that is COVID-19. If they decided instead that we must hold covid parties and kiss and spit on everyone we saw, I would fucking rebel to high heaven. I would hole myself up in my house and give the middle finger to the cops should they try to arrest me. Also, your decision to go on life as usual despite this pandemic would be fine... if it didn’t affect others. People who have cared more about their freedumbs than stopping this virus are responsible for Australia’s second wave, as well as the lives lost because of it. Hear me out: I would not guilt-trip you into hiding at home if you were the only one who got coronavirus as a result of not doing so.
This is coming from a rather pissed off Australian who sees your beliefs as selfish because in Australia, one life lost from COVID-19 is one life too many.
