After relating a bit too hard to Wine Mum Hux, my brain went on a journey where I told myself that I should absolutely not romanticise overworking myself and should listen to my mother since I am lucky enough to have one but then I realised that she is asleep and can't tell me not to make myself ill by gobbling up unhealthy amounts of work! HA HA! I WIN! The prize is being tired and stressed.
I know sometimes things just can come up but... please try to make responsible choices when hiring/booking small freelancers/independent creators. (Some of us are fame enough to find a short-term replacement but most of us aren't.) Thank youuu!

it is bullshit that if I shower and get dressed and look cute but wind up working from home all day, I have to take off my outfit and put pjs back on at night, and then shower and reassemble this Look all over again tomorrow.
I’m ready!! Why can’t I just stay dressed? Put myself in a tupperware in the fridge so I stay fresh for the morning? What a scam.

Today’s Email from a Client
“Hey, so you know how I’ve failed to pay you for several days? It’s totally because I needed to know if you were going to copy-paste an identical suffix onto each of the 60-some description titles, which you were never asked to do and which is mentioned nowhere in the provided style guide, and which has not been an issue in the previous 5-ish projects you’ve completed under the same style guide. (I’m too incompetent to add the brand suffixes to your otherwise perfectly optimized working titles, you see. And so is the web designer.) Can you copy-paste this identical suffix to save my delicate fingers from having to strike the keys in future projects, please? Note how I’m online to ask you this question through the site interface but I’m still not going to pay you for the massive project you completed.”
So I may or may not have to give up on the dig I’m supposed to be going out to next month because I had a job interview today for a year long contract which would start in July. It’s a shitty situation entirely of my own making. I have learnt lessons from this.
However, I’ve just been told the dig director got funding for the ceramic study and yet was not anticipating paying me for my work beyond room flights and board and I am very sorry but that is completely fucking rude.
I’m so goddamn tired of pretending I care about this gig I stopped caring about 2 revisions ago.
