Around 2:30 A.M. on Sunday, at least 30 police officers raided the home of Ebrahim Sharif and arrested him. Sharif is the former General Secretary of National Democratic Action Society (Wa'ad) and is one of the #Bahrain13, a group of prominent human rights defenders and opposition figures in #Bahrain. Sharif's arrest follows a speech he delivered on 10 July, which, according to the MOI, "encouraged the overthrow of the government and incited hatred." Sharif's arrest also follows the U.S.'s recent decision to lift its 4-year arms ban on Bahrain.
