We have tried to stay silent about the treatment of Stanley, and the fact that he and other animals were deserted during the fire left to die. . As we helped and assisted in the evacuation of animals during the fire, we reached out to people at the location, stating we found a giraffe trailer and a vet who could safely move Stanley before the fire reached the winery. Our help was declined, with people on location stating he was fine. . Seeing this video of Stanley, and hearing about the continued mistreatment of animals at Malibu Safari is outraging. This is animal endangerment and abuse - and if this is how visitors and employees interact with the animals at Malibu Safari, these animals should be removed. . We are currently working with members in the State Legislature, trying to introduce legislation that will make the possession of restricted animals like giraffes, water buffalo, and zebras illegal in California.
