My writing identity. Some would ask what or where it can be found, but my identity isn't just found inside the classroom. Of course we all have to take to the class that pertains to English composition and the random class that is severely strict with writing guidelines but yet has nothing to do with English...but my writing goes past the classroom and more into every day life and contests. Contests? Yes I say contest and judging contest. Like livestock and dairy evaluation teams that travel the united states and compete with other schools. My contribution to this "writing" portion of these contest is something the call reasons. Reasons are orally given about why you placed a class a certain way, so its my form of written work. I construct a mini explanation detailed of every animal in the class and then recite what I have written to a complete stranger that is listening to reason at that particular contest. You see my writing is different from most people, I guess you can say it goes past the normal writing requirements and goes past the norm. I like the way I tie written language into my life, major, and passions. I think this is a great way to combine communications and enjoyment into my life.
Next question: I am expecting like every other English class, writing, and lots of it too. I don't mind the whole writing thing, but English composition is not my forte and I am guessing that that's the case for some of my other fellow peers. So far, I do not expect a numerous essays, but merely small free writes like this one, expanding our creative spark to ignite our conversation about higher education. I figure you can say that I am looking forward to that fact... I do appreciate Melissa because she seems like a great energetic person who will make comp 150 something interesting and not seem like a dry washed up piece of cardboard. So I appreciate her given the fact that these courses at pretty upfront and dry about the material, so her funk should be a great attribute to our success in this class.
