WOOHOO - Simoleon (2022). On her debut album, South Side Bridge rapper Simoleon makes it clear that she's not afraid to speak her mind. After 2 mixtapes and a viral single, she signed to Plumbob Productions and started working with producer Sul Ekko, a risky move according to many. Although he is now the most sought after producer in the genre, he was not really known for working with rappers before Simoleon approached him. "WOOHOO" was an ambitious project, including 23 tracks, with features from industry legends like Quay Acapella and FREEZR. However, the album was an instant number one and spawned multiple social media trends. On songs like "CC" She raps: "Body so tea, they think it's sliders." & "I haven't rocked maxis since a toddler." And on the title track "WOOHOO," She playfully muses on her past lovers, mentioning Sims like Destiny Cline and disgraced comic Johnny Zest by name. In the controversial music video, she is seen dancing in what appears to be a bed, wearing a corset made from repurposed WooHoo toys and surrounded by multicolored guns. The outfit she wears in the video inspired the viral "Tailored Toys" trend, where participants cut up pieces of Woohoo toys and made them into gowns, headpieces, bags, etc. She was chosen as the QI Magazine star of the year for 2022. However, following a Tweeter scandal started over some uncertainty pertaining to her racial & ethnic background, she was cancelled and dropped by Plumbob Productions. She recently released an EP titled "PAYWALL" in 2023 to mixed reactions.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a panic attack is an episode of intense fear that comes on suddenly, in the absence of any real danger. They can cause a sense of imminent doom, or even death, as well as extreme physical symptoms, including shortness of breath, numbness or tingling, a racing heart rate, and chest pain. Panic attacks are similar to what people refer to as anxiety attacks but the former tend to yield more intense physical symptoms.

“A panic attack is this full-body, somatic experience,” Cathie Gordon, a California-based mental health counselor, tells Mic. “The body goes into this fight-or-flight response…. Literally, the body is predating for action.” While this fight-or-flight response might have offered an evolutionary advantage to humans (helping us fend off danger), panic attacks hijack this response so that it’s no longer helpful. “The gas pedals just keep running,” Gordon says.

Learn to recognize the signs of a panic attack

Usually, someone who’s having a panic attack will describe having an overwhelming traumatic experience that’s preventing them from functioning, Gordon says. They might mention that their heart is racing, or that their blood pressure is rising. “It’s not uncommon that people think they’re having a heart attack,” Gordon says, and indeed, a panic attack can look a lot like a heart attack

Bring their focus into the present

Since anxiety is future-focused, grounding the person having a panic attacks in the here and now can help soothe them

Ask them to focus on a body part that feels neutral

When someone is having a panic attack, they tend to fixate on their pounding heart, which probably only ends up scaring them even more, Gordon says. Ask them to focus instead on body part that feels more relaxed — maybe their foot or hand, for instance.

Ask them to imagine a place where they feel safe

Once you feel like you’ve helped calmed down the panic attack sufferer’s nervous system and alleviated their physical symptoms, focus on stilling their mind by asking them to imagine a place in their life where they feel really restful and peaceful.
