not to be weird or annoying or anything but seeing regular people (ie non simmers) talk about the sims and paralives these past weeks has been so jarring like this is family business…
Apparently there's a limit of 50 mods (downloaded from the workshop) to be loaded at a time by Paralives. Downloaded Households and Lots count to that limit unfortunately. So if you have mods disappearing from the game and not showing up in the "Mods" list, that's probably why (it was happening to me and was driving me CRAZY).
EDIT:
Someone made a plugin where you can install plugin mods for the game, including one to REMOVE the 50 limit for workshop downloads! Here (click) is the link for the plugin!
From inside the game, on the main menu go to Mods > Plugin Hub and there you'll find the option to install the Workshop mods limit fix.
Thanks @honowo for sharing! 🫶
Below the cut is the previous workaround I had posted.
Here's a workaround:
I'd recommend doing this just to Households & Lots only. DON'T DO IT TO MODS and custom content, in case the creator updates their mods you won't receive them.
The folder for items downloaded from the Workshop for Paralives is this one:
Are you playing Paralives? Are you annoyed over the fact that modders are already paywalling content for an indie game that won't charge users for future DLCs?
Content that would improve the game dramatically, like saaaaaay...camera controls that mimic the Sims 3?
Finished my first cc for Paralives! So happy the game is finally out ★

Enjoy!
I think a lot of people who are complaining about the lack of content in Paralives are forgetting just how fucking bare bones the sims 4 was at launch.
Love it or hate it, we’re getting a new sims 4 marketplace in the game very soon. See community reactions and have your say here.
^^^ Vote in the community poll above if only for catharsis.
I was just discussing this marketplace development with someone over on Bluesky.
Am I missing something???
EA will be taking 70% for what is essentially hosting and distribution. As a creator, you're going to be giving EA 70% of YOUR profit to host YOUR content. From what I understand, Patreon takes up to 12%? I don't think even sh*tty Spotify takes 70%. WTF? Seriously.
Now, VISIBILITY. Being featured on EA's storefront might help boost recognition, help some folks get more subscribers, ya ya ya...
All I hear is, "Hey, do this gig for free/less. Do it for the EXPOSURE!" Every working artist has heard some version of this old chestnut.
But here's the thing: DISCOVERABILITY IS NOT GUARANTEED! Will EA actively promote and support smaller creators? I think a few popular creators (not necessarily BETTER creators) will absolutely dominate the algorithm. Also, EA controls distribution, pricing, and visibility. Creators lose ownership. They're locked into the platform. They can't even cross-post their stuff (explain that to any subscribers- that they're going to have to pay extra to get the thing from the creator they already pay to support).
Also, since it'll be EA's platform, there will be creative restrictions. Think content guidelines. Less creativity, more uniformity.
Ultimately, this is EA going, "Look at this beautiful sh*t sandwich! You're gonna eat it and love it!" It's a hit to a modding community that grew over the years thanks to free sharing and creating. This feels like an admiring nod to permapaywallers; instead of enforcing their own terms against them, EA wants in on a slice of their pie.
