It seems my promise to draw more flowers has brought some pretty good results, so I think I'm ready for the next stage. Lately, I've been taking far too long to move from a sketch to… full realization. Also, after COVID hit me three times (or more), I've started revisiting all my favorite books and films, because my memory just emptied out.
How is it even possible to forget your own favorite films or books? Apparently, I'm capable of that. But hey — at least now I get to experience everything anew.
So what I want now is to make quick, commitment-free, but emotional sketches(!). Hope I can handle it.
Well, here goes the first one.
I thought I'd already gotten over it — by redrawing an old sketch — but today I stumbled on poppies outside, and their intense red threw me right back. How can anything be that red?
I was just thinking that maybe I should introduce a new tag for raw sketches and post them sometimes? After all, I love the rawest things the most. There's an incredibly liberating feeling — drawing something that no one needs and no one expects. Wow.
