Construction of 525 Fremont St, 1943
Cal Liles opened City Laundry and Dry Cleaners at 100 S. 6th Street in ‘41. Two years later he opened an addition to the business next door at 525 Fremont. The construction photos are on the southwest corner of Fremont & 6th St, facing north. Across the street is Ullom’s Desert Studio (522 Fremont). El Cortez and Sears would be out of frame, to the right. The interior photos are 525 Fremont, today’s Commonwealth bar.
City Laundry opened another location at Carson & 13th in ‘57.
