Visited the Freemont Troll in Seattle!

I need to re-visit the Portland Troll Bridge and see if that's still a thing. Been a minite

After the recent catastrophe in Baltimore, I wonder about the structural integrity of bridges, especially those crossing shipping routes like the Willamette in and near Portland. It would be an urban nightmare if one or more of those bridges were to be destroyed. Given how close together the bridges crossing from the central business district are, it is not difficult to imagine an out-of-control ship taking out two or more of them. The least likely to fail is the Fremont Bridge pictured in the last photo, while Steel Bridge and the Broadway Bridge, quite close together, could be victims of a dual bridge disaster. Probably will not happen, but...

I was late catching up and can’t estimate crowd size at its peak, but i saw certainly more than a thousand people. “Defund Police” and “No Justice No Peace” banners were hung from hwy signs at the east end of the bridge’s arch

House paint was used to make handprints and messages on the southern side of the bridge. Eventually the crowd marched back east the way it had come, singing “I’ve got a feeling / change is coming”
