Uploaded some sketches from last year onto my Redbubble! These 12 Days of Christmas borbs are available on greeting cards, mugs, sweaters, and more here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/falcogallus/works/43041101-holiday-birds?asc=u&ref=recent-owner
1. Gray partridge, Perdix perdix - the only partridge species native to my area
2. European turtle dove, Streptopelia turtur - your run-of-the-mill turtle dove
3. Faverolles hen, Gallus gallus - one of the most common chicken breeds originating from France
4. Common blackbird, Turdus merula - Wikipedia told me that “calling bird” or “colly bird” was an old common name for blackbirds

holiday daemon moodboard: chicken
» Chicken Chicken souls love being around others and prefer to do activities with a group rather than alone. They are acutely aware of hierarchies in both friend groups and the workplace; they easily find their place in the pecking order, and have a keen eye for how to ascend. They are unexpectedly wily and have no issues putting others in their place. Despite this, chicken souls are ruled by a sense of wariness and anxiety, and are suspicious of those they don’t know. They are protective people who will plunge themselves into conflict to defend their place and their loved ones. They have a distinct caring vibe about them and are often the people others turn to if they need comfort or a shoulder to cry on. Chickens aren’t afraid to throw their weight around and they wear their emotions on their sleeves. A distressed chicken soul is very audible; they’re very dramatic and it takes them a while to calm down. Otherwise they are chatty and integrate easily into social groups, and prefer when they have a semblance of control. Chicken souls have found the balance between being a forceful leader and a doting friend, and in all it is best to be on their side than not. [ x ]
