Paris, 30th November 2021
Today, Josephine Baker (1906-1975) enters the Pantheon
France is opening the doors of its place of great men and women to a woman of a thousand lives.
Artist, dancer, singer, resistance fighter, aviatrix, mother, lover, anti-racist activist, fraternal, generous, funny, exuberant, talented and sincere, Josephine led a whirlwind, rhythmic and joyful life. Her heart beats as big as this for France and the United States.
This November 30th, at a time when some want to divide, she opens her arms wide and invites us all to dance together, no matter who we are, what we do or what we believe.
Merci, Josephine, and welcome to the Pantheon!
