pet peeve #547: use of the word métis for clearly dark skinned dolls.
You can say just say noir, aa, africaine. Métis in france means biracial in general not black specifically, in the overseas french territories it used to mean different levels of blood quantum depending on the location, in Canada it refers to a specific mixed indigenous population. It’s an ugly word in origin (and elsewhere) but it’s been reclaimed by french biracial people. Métisse applied to skintones from afra to dark black makes the assumption there’s a white parent and I *know* people those skintones who wouldn’t like the inference 😬😬😬.
