Serge Jiner - First fitting (Final fabric)

Les choses sérieuses commencent.

Il s’agit ici du premier essayage sur le tissu définitif de la veste.

A peine entré dans l’atelier, je peux apercevoir ma veste posée sur un mannequin au milieu de la pièce.

Serious things begin.

It’s the first fitting on the final fabric.

Barely entered, I can see my jacket on a model in the middle of the workplace.

Un sentiment d’excitation m’envahi, et il me tarde de l’essayer pour constater l’évolution par rapport à la toile.

Tout d’abord, je me conforte dans mon choix du tissu qui est exactement comme je l’imaginais.

Monsieur Jiner ferme sommairement la veste sur le devant afin de pouvoir régler les aplombs par la suite.

A feeling of excitement is invading me, and I can’t wait to try it to see how the jacket evolved compared to the previous fitting (canvas fitting).

Firstable, I’m very happy with the fabric which is like I had in mind.

Mister Jiner close the front of the jacket in order to adjusts details.

Ayant les épaules en avant, c’est par le réglage de ces dernières que l’essayage va commencer.

The fitting will starts with the shoulders adjustment.

Monsieur Jiner commence par démonter les coutures de l’épaule et retire l’épaulette, afin de pouvoir coucher la ligne d’épaule. Afin que le pli dû aux épaules en avant disparaisse, il suffit d’avancer la couture d’épaule et y placer des épingles afin de figer la couture.

Mister Jiner starts the fitting by unstitching the shoulder and removing the padding, in order to lay down the shoulder line. In order to make the fold don the shoulder disappear, we have to move forward the shoulder line and put some pins to fix it.

Monsieur Jiner règle ensuite le dos pour rétablir l’équilibre par rapport au devant.

After that, Mister Jiner adjusts the back in order to balance it with the front of the jacket.

Après cela, Monsieur Jiner marque la taille afin de mieux dessiner la cambrure du dos.

Mister Jiner mark the waist to adjust the camber of the back.

Notez comme le dos tombe impeccablement après les modifications apportées.

Note the perfection of the back after some adjustments.

Monsieur Jiner règle ensuite l’emmanchure, qui sera une emmanchure très haute mais qui permettra un très grande liberté de mouvements.

Mister Jiner adjusts the armhole, which will be a very high armhole but which will allows a true freedom of movements.

Nous définissons par la suite la croisure de la veste. En effet, Monsieur Jiner pose des épingles afin de définir l’emplacement des boutons.

We define where the jacket will close. In fact, Mister Jiner puts some pins to define the position of the buttons.

Nous réfléchissons en même temps aux revers. J’opte finalement pour un revers de 9.5cm. Les revers permettent de définir l’emplacement de la poche poitrine (et donc de la pince), qui sera d’ailleurs d’inspiration italienne, puisqu’il s’agira d’une “barchetta” (en forme de bateau).

At the same time, we think about the lapels. I opt for a 9.5cm lapel. Lapels allows to define the position of the breast pocket, which will be from Italy, beacause it will be a “Barchetta” (boat form).

Ainsi se termine le premier essayage sur le tissu définitif.

Cet essayage me rend d’autant plus impatient de voir le résultat final.

Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre…

Thus ends the first fitting on the final fabric.

This fitting makes me really excited to see the final result.
