Overdue Reunion - @freudish
There was very little to do as a giant, goggled bird flew Aran and several other travelers to Leafre. Some people took the time to reorganize the contents of their bags, attempt to read books in the high-altitude winds, or catch up on sleep after a long day of hunting and training.
Aran took the time to take out the world map and examine the major regions of the Minar Forest. He wanted to travel to the Temple of Time after hearing talk of the monks and guardians there that were supposedly good for training on. It had been awhile since he last visited the floating home of the Rhinne; the last time was when he was tracking down Arkarium for the Silent Crusade.
He examined the locations detailed on the map, and took notice of the records of the monsters there (the monsters in Dragon Canyon were strong as well; if the monks at the Temple of Time proved to be too challenging, he could go over there to train so that this trip wasn't a total waste). It passed the time until Leafre finally came into view, and the bird docked at the port there.
Aran hopped off and walked into town, with the intent of going to the potion store and stocking up on mana potions. As he navigated the dirt paths of the town, though, he caught a glimpse of a figure before it disappeared behind some buildings. Messy hair, bright red robes, and what appeared to be a mage's staff... could it be?
"Evan? Is that you?" Aran shouted, and then ran after him. It didn't take long to catch up to the person, and Aran tapped his shoulder to get his attention. "I never expected to meet you here. How have you-"
Aran was cut off when the person who he had thought was Evan turned around. Yes, the clothes and hairstyle were the same, but this man's hair was blonde, rather than brown. The face was different too; this one was much older, more worn, and told of a past that had seen too much conflict and tragedy.
This man... Aran had seen him once before, but several hundred years in the past.
