I don't think we should worry about Daniel winning/getting a nomination. Christoph Waltz wasn't nominated for a SAG in 2013 because Django was released in December - just like PT - but he still won an oscar.

I’m not worried. I’m pissed off. Like I said before, I want nods for DDL so I could see him at award shows. I mean, there’s no guarantee he will be there but now, one’s out. Although DDL’s probably glad he doesn’t have to attend another event. And I always love SAGs more than Golden Globes. DDL speeches for SAGs are always more beautiful, meaningful and eloquent and now we won’t get to hear them :( 

And we’re talking about Daniel fucking Day-Lewis here. The man is an award beast! He sneezes and it’s award worthy. The fact that he got snubbed is outrageous!!!

hey. I just found your blog through johann johannsson tag and I'm surprised to see more music score enthusiats. it's so sad about johann... one of my favorites. I was going to see him live in december. anyway, I don't really know anyone who listens to instrumental music, so if you want check out my playlists on spotify (links submitted) - I created, rearranged them to fit the perfect mood. I call it 'atmospheric night music'. but tonight we listen to JJ.

Why it would be a surprise if he won? He is Daniel fucking Day-Lewis. It should be the other way around.

What about past PTA movies? Like when Daniel won an oscar for TWBB. Was it always like that or the critics saw all of the movies

Nothing was ever this late. With Phantom Thread, PTA cut it pretty close to the dateline. There Will Be Blood also got limited release on Christmas day but the film was already screening at festivals for a few months as early as September if I wasn’t mistaken. By the time it reached award seasons, TWBB already got the buzz and winning several critics awards.
