5 Things To Ditch In Your Summer Make-Up Bag
With the warmer weather (FINALLY) on its way in, summer is in the air. We know that our houses arenât the only thing that will benefit from a good summer clear-out! Our makeup bags often get ignored in the whole hype of summer, so itâs time to put away your winter makeup and stay with the seasons trend with a fresher, lighter look!
Here are 5 products in your makeup bag you should get rid of now Summer is here, and what to switch them for:
 1.Ditch it: Heavy foundation
The British sun (hopefully) will be out for a bit longer than spring/winter, so heavy makeup aint gonnaâ work. Nobody wants that horrible sweaty look you get when you mix heavy foundation with humid weather, no no! Give your skin some room to breathe and put aside that full coverage foundation (atleast until it gets cold again).
Donât worry gals! You can still have a flawless complexion. Just replace your usual heavy weight foundation with a lightweight BB cream. Itâs a lot easier to apply and will give you a smooth, fresh face for your make-up base (and it wonât sweat off!).
 2.Ditch it: Dark lipstick
Ditch any dark toned lipstick you have in your make-up collection now. We mean it! It should be put away until winter comes around again. The start of Summer means bright new flowers and beautiful new colors â so let your makeup kit reflect the season!
 Switch it: Tinted lip balm
Now that youâve said goodbye to your beloved burgundy lipstick, say hello to cheerful coral, peach and rosy tinted lip balms. Lip balms are lighter, easier to reapply and they keep your lips soft and hydrated. No oneâs saying you can't ever wear that  bright red lip, but for now, try some spring colours on your lip!Â
Powder blushes are prone to caking, slipping, and sliding making your face look like a damaged exhibit at Madame Tussauds LOL. With the heat of summer approaching, itâs best to stay away from powdery products. And hereâs us thinking powder products are the best ones for summer..
Cream blushes apply smoothly, giving you a natural flush instead of noticeably fake pink cheeks. You can even blend them onto your eyelids or lips to brighten all your makeup looks. Stick to rosy or coral hues that complement your lip balm.
 4.Ditch it: Black eyeliner
This one hurts us over here at FFS! we love our classic cat eyes and liquid liners. They really are bae. But the beauty of spring trends is that you can experiment with more color, without looking like a clown (just donât go OTT). Take advantage and ditch your black eyeliner for something a little more fun.
 Switch it: Bright eyeshadow
Purple, turquoise, or green can make for an appealing pop of color when youâre going for a light, natural look. Just donât go too dark or OTT. Pencil eyeliners are softer and easier to smudge than liquid liner. For a real summer look you should line your eyes with any bright eyeshadow shade and your eyes will become the focus of your look.
5.Ditch it: Matifying powder
In the warmer weather, your skin is likely to become more oily and constantly dashing off to the ladiesâ room to counter the makeup damaging effects of sweat is not an appealing scenario. So ditch that powder compact! We genuinely thought powder would help the make-up from falling off your face. Weird..
 Switch it: Setting spray
In the world of cosmetics, few products are better than a refreshing mist of setting spray. Invest in one and youâll enjoy makeup that stays put for real. Itâs a simple solution that doesnât add more products on your face, plus itâll give your look a gorgeous, dewy finish!
Now your makeup bag is ready for summer! Donât be afraid to experiment with lighter and brighter colors, after all, this is the perfect time of year to do just that.Â
