肉詰めオリーブの揚げ物 // Fried Stuffed Olives My mom makes something similar for special occasions! It takes forever to stuff all the little olives with sausage meat, but everyone always loves it. So I was thrilled when I saw these on a menu in Kagurazaka.

Bacaro
I’m officially hooked on this place. A while back, my wife and I stopped in for a drink and an app – the fritto misto. We were already sort of full, but that pplate of mixed fried items like calamari, olives, lemon rinds, shrimp, and artichoke really made us want to go back. Last night we finally did! We tried two more apps, meatballs and fried zucchini blossoms. Both were incredible. In fact,…

Four Olive Treats You Won’t Get Enough Of
Olives are one of the oldest snack foods—and the tastiest. Looking for more ways to enjoy olives with guests or on your own? From easy marinated olives to some fancy olive relish, here are four olive treats you’ll love.
1. Marinated olives. This is a classic, and one of everybody’s favorite uses for olives. Marinated olives are fantastic because they take the naturally nutty, rich flavor of olives and bring it out with the zest of complimentary spices. They’re also easy to make on your own—the recipe is as simple as taking ripe, pitted olives and soaking them in olive oil with your preferred spices. A typical blend consists of garlic, black pepper, rosemary and thyme; you can get creative with hints of coriander, red pepper, or other spices. Once the marinade has set in, these olives will be delicious to just pop in your mouth on their own, or to use to make any of the other treats below.
2. Stuffed olives. People forget how easy it is to make stuffed olives, which are without a doubt among the tastiest hors d’oeuvres out there. Depending on what kind of flavor you want, you can start with black olives or marinated olives. The natural counter balance to the strong flavor of olives is a creamy flavor, so cream cheese or goat cheese is usually the foundation of your filling. Be aware that if you’re using marinated olives, you already have a strong flavor so go easy. You could consider an onion cream or just a plain goat cheese filling. With black olives, consider spicing it up more. Some people will use hummus or other substances as their filling.
3. Fried olives. Fried olives take the innocuous stuffed olive and turn it into a comfort food appetizer. They are not hard to make, but they do require care to prepare properly. You will simply take your preferred stuffed olives and roll them in a little flour, then dip them in egg and roll in breadcrumbs. Then drop them carefully into hot oil and fry till the breading is golden-brown. Be cautious: they do not take long to cook! Serve them quickly after they’re done to get the absolute best flavor.
4. Olive relish. This final treat is meant to be enjoyed on other dishes, not just on its own—but it’s easy to make and delicious. Simply chop up your marinated olives with some roasted red pepper and marinated onion or grilled onion. Then serve as a relish for sandwiches, dips, or anything else than use some extra flavor!
