Mahogany Fried Chicken is a savory and flavorful dish with a sweet and tangy glaze. The chicken thighs are coated in a seasoned flour mixture, fried to crispy perfection, and then simmered in a delicious soy sauce-based glaze.
Ingredients: 4 chicken thighs. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon black pepper. 1 teaspoon paprika. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 2 tablespoons honey. 2 tablespoons vinegar. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon grated ginger. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 2 green onions, chopped for garnish.
Instructions: Fill a bowl with flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix the spices together. Cover the chicken thighs with the flour mix. Shake off any extra. Mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a different bowl using a whisk. Put oil in a pan and heat it over medium-low heat. Before you add the chicken thighs, make sure both sides are golden brown. This should take about 8 to 10 minutes per side. Cover the chicken thighs with the soy sauce mix. Turn down the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. This will give the sauce time to thicken and cover the chicken. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped green onions.
