oh man. OH man, i originally was sending kennyo pity votes but the romance of it all. "ive yearned for nothing but to exact revenge and leave this world for years, but meeting you makes me want to stay and change my life" is such a good trope, and it plays out so well on him. the first time i sent him votes and he said he found it hard to leave. sobs.
there's such a precarious balance of trust in his route, and then the betrayal and heartbreak, and the choice for him to trust you again despite the hurt he felt. his dramatic end is my favorite, and the way he just drops every upset he has to come to your aid without hesitation.... 🥺
and THEN at the end of it all. when the dust has settled and theyre rebuilding, he's domestic, he's found his life partner and wants to make sure she's happy. he teases her and makes sure she knows she's cared for, and that if she speaks he will Listen to her. iirc he states that what she says and feels matter to him bc she matters to him
i Think it was his ch7 POV (i could be wrong but thats what's sticking in my brain regarding this) where he's considering the impact he'll have on MC when he attacks azuchi. specifically, he has this moment of "it wont matter bc she'll likely be killed", and as soon as he thinks that, he has to stop himself so he doesnt break down right there. it doesnt explicitly state it but he's already struggling w the idea of ruining everything if it means never seeing MC again, and he doesnt want to hurt her even if he cant quite bring himself to admit it. for me, its the moment he realizes this person he's pretending is a nuisance actually means a lot to him, to a point where he doesnt want her affected by what he's abt to do.
