FriendBlender v.1.3 is available on the App Store! This time Apple really came through and reviewed it in under three days. Nice.
Namespaces
Namespaces? Unnecessary according to Apple in iOS programming. Well, turns out iOS 5 introduced a new class called "Face", ambiguiting our "Face" class, crashing FriendBlender. So let's hope our 1.3 will be reviewed soon. Besides renaming that class and thereby fixing the iOS 5 issues, there are also some cool new features. Ok, enough with the ranting. Later.
FriendBlender v1.2 - Swap Faces Automatically
FriendBlender 1.2 update is available. New in this version: - controls now fade out after a few seconds of inactivity - "Fade out controls" added to settings - "Clear Previous Blends" button added to settings - "Rate this App" button added to settings - other minor user interface changes - bugfixes
We are submitting version 1.2 of FriendBlender to the app store just now. And yes, this time we will mind the keywords more, so you'll actually be able to find a face swapping app by searching for "swap faces" ;)
itunes / app store: fuzzy vs exact matching
Lesson learned: Searching in iTunes / App Store only considers title and keywords and the query term needs to be an exact match. No fulltext-search, no fuzzy matching, nothing.
So when you submit to Apple's App Store, really mind the keywords you supply. Their matching "algorithm" (I wouldn't call "==" an algorithm) doesn't even match singular/plural terms versus each other. And of course, you can only change keywords with a new version of your app, so that takes at least a week... Ok, enough ranting for now... off to submit a new version ;)
