picture a scenario of langdon's first day back where santos is avoiding him as much as possible, both for his benefit and her own.
she knows she's probably the last person he wants to see and vice versa, knowing it'll be awkward.
she nearly manages to pull it off, too.
but at the end of her shift, she runs into him in the staff room.
for lack of a better reaction, words fall out of her mouth in the form of an insult or a sly jab, likely something along the lines of calling him swiper.
santos freezes.
bc fuck that was NOT what she wanted her first interaction with him to be.
her eyes widen and she frantically reaches for some sort of apology that fails her because langdon is laughing?
like full-on, hysterical laughing. she watches him as he tries to recover, and fails, for a solid minute, unsure of what to do yet again.
but when he stops laughing, all he does is cautiously clap a hand on her shoulder, mumbles a "thanks. you're the first person to act normal around me all day" and leaves.
and what the fuck?
