The Witch's Cure
By WitchangelNekora
Note: I'm using my real name in this, and it's a thing to help me today, cause today...I am sick! This is something inspired by the Armyplier Skype group, and since i am a youtuber like Mark, i nee to write something cute while i try to get over this horrible cold. It's also inspired by Mark's "Catlateral Damage" video, when he was still sick, so we're just gonna pal up and be sick together. Plus, i don't live in LA, i live in Kentucky....This is a story. Chill out.
=================================================================
Mark was at home in LA, his pink hair wrapped in a beanie as he laid in bed, watching TV to help clear his mind. He was sick with a bad cold....AGAIN, and was unable to do any videos today due to how he felt. Next to his bed, was a nightstand with his glasses, a mug of warm Lemon-Honey tea to help his throat, dressed in a red shirt and his Markiplier Pajama pants with some black and green socks on his feet. As he was flipping through the channel guide, He got a message on his iPhone. It was Emily, also known as WitchAngelNekora. She wasn't a well-known Youtuber yet, but she was good friends with Mark.
"Hey, Markimoo." Came the message, It popped up in a light purple bubble, since that was her color. It wasn't a Royal Purple like Bob's. "How are you?"
Mark chuckled weakly, coughing into a tissue.
"Sick. Caught a bad cold coming back from Cincinnati. Trying to get over it."
Over at Emily's apartment, her big butt was laid up in bed as well, clad in a pair of Pink Peppermint patterned pajama pants, a white Tokio Hotel T-shirt, a pair of Blue and Turquoise fuzzy wool socks, with a huge Taco Johns cup full of warm Lemon tea as well, coughing as she typed away at her phone. Her Tv wasn't on, but she didn't need it. She had her headphones plugged into her laptop as she listened to some calming music to help ease her spinning head.
"Same. But i caught a cold from getting locked out of my apartment and i forgot my phone and the keys. Thankfully my landlord came and unlocked my door....after i got super drenched from the storm we had the other day." Her message took two bubbles, but he got it.
"Damn, are you ok?"
"Sore throat, legs hurt, head is spinning every time i stand up, and i have a horrible cough that feels like someone is clawing my throat."
"Hey. How about you come over. We can be sick together." Mark typed as he smirked softly.
"Are you sure? I don't wanna make it worse."
"It'll be ok. As long as you don't cough on me."
"I'll bring a facemask." She typed and smiled, coughing. "Also, i'll bring my copy of Pitch Perfect 2. Have you seen it?"
"Not yet. Is it good?"
"Oh yeah."
"Okay."
Emily smiled as she kneeled down and pet her cat,a Black Cat named Hecate. It was a rescue cat she adopted when she moved to LA, and he was as cuddly as her cat back home in Kentucky, a Sphynx cat named Harley.
"Mama's gonna be gone for a few hours, okay?" Emily smiled as she ran a hand through her messy brown curls, exposing her dangling earrings. She always wore two sets in both ears, along with a necklace and bracelet. She only took them off to clean them once every three weeks.
Hecate meowed as he looked up at her, yellow eyes gleaming in the light of the dim apartment. "Meooooow."
Before she left, she gave him fresh food and water as she grabbed her purse, the DVD, her helmet and slipped on some sneakers, going over to the wall as she grabbed her bike and walked out of the apartment, locking it behind her as she headed downstairs, got on her bike, and pedaled down to Mark's place, which was the Cyndago guys' old home. Both Ryan and Matt were sill in South Carolina while he stayed there to rest and get over his sickness.
Emily had to stop and shake her head a little as she pedaled down the street, to keep from passing out. Her lightheadedness was bugging her.
As soon as she pulled up to the place, she pulled a bike lock out of her purse and locked her bike up, heading to the door. Giving the doorbell a couple of rings, Mark got out of his bed and walked up to the door.
"Who is it?"
"It's Emily."
"Prove it." Mark Joked.
"How?"
"What do you say at the end of your videos?"
"I say "I will see you next time" with a kiss and a "Blessed Be" at the end." Emily rolled her green eyes as she laughed.
Mark smiled as he opened the door and let his friend in, coughing a little. "Hey, Was it hard finding the place?"
"Nah. Remember, you invited me over for pizza two weeks ago!" She giggled.
"I know, i know. Come in." He smiled as he moved aside, letting her walk in as she took her sneakers off at the door, holding the wall as a bout of vertigo kicked in again.
"Whoa....You ok there?...."
"Yeah....Dizzy."
"Did you eat?"
"Yeah. Ate some soup before i came here..."
"Come on. Let's get you a seat." Mark said as he smiled at his sick friend, taking her by the hand as they walked to the living room.
"Hold on." Emily said.
"What?" Mark asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Do you have any tea to make?"
"Oh, sure. " He nodded and led her to the kitchen, grabbing a red mug from the cabinet and filled it with water as Emily pulled out a tea bag from her purse.
"Sorry....It's Chamomile." She blushed. "It's what i've always drank when i was sick." Her pale skin was flushed with a fever on her cheeks and her face was warm to the touch.
"Hey. It's no problem. Want some honey to go with it?" Mark nodded as he grabbed the small teddy bear off the counter.
"Sure. And a little lemon juice if you have it.." Emily smiled as he added a little of both to the mug and warmed it in the microwave, handing it to her once it was done.
"Thank you."
"Anytime. So....How about that movie?"
She nodded and pulled the case out of her purse, accidentally knocking over a cup of water that was nearby. "Shit!"
It landed on the tile floor with a plastic "clink" as she scrambled over to the paper towels. "No, no...Lemme get this."
"Mark, You've already done so much. Let me do this."
"Come on now."
"No. It was my fault." Both of them kneeled down and cleaned up the water as they looked into each other's eyes, A set of brown, chocolate eyes gazing into a set of Light Emerald...Until they looked away with an embarrassed blush.
"Y-Yeah. Come on, Let's go watch that movie." Emily said, stammering.
"Good idea." Mark said.
The two grabbed their tea and walked to the living room, grabbing a Tiny Box Tim plushie to serve as a pillow as Mark grabbed a large blanket as Emily put the movie in, the two sitting on the couch with the blanket around them, plushies serving as pillows. The movie began as Mark sipped his tea, clearing his throat.
"So, How's the videos coming?"
"Good. About to do a play-through of Amnesia: The Dark Decent once i'm better." Emily said as she sipped her tea, silver nails clutching the mug.
"Oh! That was one of my first Let's Plays!"
"I Know, but Steam just made Amnesia free for a day, and i grabbed it at the right moment."
"You're gonna lose your mind...."
"Nah. I already lost it back in Kentucky."
Mark laughed as he sneezed a bit, wiping his nose with a chuckle. "That's good. I like that." He snort-laughed.
"Easy there, don't wanna make tea come out your nose!" Emily laughed.
"It won't happen!" He chuckled.
A good half-hour passed as they watched, Emily's head started to get light again as she held it, groaning.
"Em?"
"I-i'm fine. Just lightheaded."
"Well, just lay down for a minute. Prop your feet up." Mark said. And she did, placing the pillow on his chest and laid her head on it, Relaxing to the sounds of his heartbeat. It was like a clock..."Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom." And it helped soothe her frazzled mind. "I meant on the other side, but okay...." He said with a mumble as she closed her eyes, relaxing to the sounds of his heart and the movie playing.
He smiled at her. The two were really good friends, and even gave each other tips on how to make the videos better sometimes. He placed a hand on her shoulder and gave a friendly kiss to her head as she took a nap on his chest.
"I think i'll nap too." Mark smiled as he pulled the plushie up to his head and relaxed, the two friends falling asleep, hoping to get over their illnesses together.
