Run quickly to your nearest yarn store! I just found out that Red Heart has discontinued one of my favorite lines of yarn--the Gumdrop collection! This cupcake hat was my very first written pattern and I just fell in love with this bright pink yarn. It comes (well, came) in a bunch of colorways. I may just have to go hunting tomorrow to find what's left in my town and buy them up! No use hunting for that white icing yarn either, because I found out last year that it was also discontinued. (That's from Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn collection.) This is the very first time I've run into this discontinued yarn situation! Does this mean I've been crocheting for a "long time" then?
