Happy Easter
Today we started working with the locker - very exiting!
At first we figured out that the locker only worked with a 12V 1.5A power supply. To continue with the project we must go to the one and only hardware store: Harald Nyborg! Of course we remembered to sanitize and kept a distance of 2 metres away from all the other hardware shoppers. Down below we are using a Voltmeter to check how the current flows in the locker (to make sure we do not destroy anything).
Next step was to work on getting our relay (SRD-05VDC-SL-C) and the locker to flow together. At first we almost fried the locker because we forgot that the lock was constantly activated. WOOPS. It started to smell burnt, luckily we unplugged the power supply before anyone was harmed and the locker survived. We fixed the problem by coding it to only be unlocked for 500 milliseconds.
Next step: We want an LED to turn red when the locker is in use and green when it is free. First we make a button that can shift between red and green with an RGB LED.
It works! The hard part here was to figure out how to have multiple topics in the arduino code. Now all the functions are ready to be used inside nodeRED.
