I am sure every Thor or Loki stan has read at least one fanfic about them both (smth like brotp). There are also pieces of art where Loki calls his brother "Idiot", "Stupid" and etc.

However, I can't imagine Loki actually saying things like that to somebody about the elder Odinson or to Thor himself.

Our trickster may be completely mad at his so called sibling, but he will never say bad things to Thor. Loki misunderstands how others treat him, but his is not blind. He sees that Thor cares, he just doesn't entirely believe him ( maybe? ). He cares what his big brother thinks and cares about him.

He is trying to get these kind of reactions, when basically Thor admits he needs his brother.

I also think that Loki looks up to Thor and is trying to impress him at some point.

Loki is called God of Mischief and Lies for a reason. He is good at hiding feelings and true emotions. However, Frigga and Thor were the ones who saw right through him, saw good in him. Loki could to the world, himself even,but...

The one who raised him and the one who was being raised with him, how could they not know Loki better than anyone. And God of Lies knows it too well.

He is also proud of Thor (though, he would never admit it aloud, probably)

In today's episode we shall visit the past.

So let us rewind a few years back to this :

Tom Hiddleston actually auditioned for Thor but was rejected and then approached for the role of Loki. Now just consider this - what better way to take his brother's place (although fictionally) than to play it?

Don't tell me that it is not Loki just acting as an actor trying to get the role of his brother Thor, so he can finally be the King of Asgard. Hiddleston wanting to be Thor just like Loki wanting to be Thor.... Coincidence? I think not.

But unfortunately, poor Loki's attempts failed and he had to stick to act as an actor who acts Loki. Although, surely along the way he has realised people love him way more.
