The Frijole 883

Remember that time way back when we raced a Sportster for over 1200 miles in five days of the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road race? Seems like a hundred years ago already. Our bud @epiczam tagged along on that trip lugging tons of high-end camera equipment and he kept setting it up in the middle of nowhere for like two seconds of filming the bike going by. It seemed like a ton of work and then he got busy with real jobs and the project gathered dust for a while. Thanks to COVID, he got a little time on his hands recently and created this killer seven-minute film. Watching it just made our mouths water for dusty silt beds, steaming roadside tacos and ice cold beers…

Not only is Pete at Hot Dog Kustoms one of the best guys to pick up the OneShot and a Mac 00, his work ethic is equally admirable. He’s knocking out the tins for our #Frijole883 project this week and we’re excited to see them when they’re finished. Pete will also be at our Parking Lot sale January 6th, 2018 so if you’re looking for some paint work, that’ll be a prime time to pick his brain. Thanks Pete for all this hustle on this project, hope we don’t thrash ‘em too bad!

Some good times testing our #Frijole883 this week out in Barstow’s barren moonscape. Otto wadded it up in turn one, Moeller stayed on the stink, Barnacle got busy in the snake run and Westy was the king of the wash. Rouser’s handiwork held up well and all the parts our friends contributed to build passed the test, too. We’ve still got a long ways to go until we race the NORRA 1000 but we’re happy with progress so far. 65 degree weather, a handful of hot links and a healthy serving of 805 Beer might’ve added to our elation. In case you forgot, motorcycles are the funnest when you actually ride them...even dumb ones
