it crossed my mind out of nowhere so i thought i might drop a quick ask: how’s the fringe watch going? >:3

Ooooh that’s such a delightful question and one I’m very happy to answer, thank you! 🖤 I’ve been exhausted and eager to talk about the show so it’s going to be a bit of a long incoherent brain dump I’m afraid

So I’m on s2e06 and my enjoyment only grows! The more I get to know Olivia, Peter and Walter the more attached to them I get :’) poor Olivia is suffering more than Jesus did, someone give her a vacation 😭 And that’s not even mentioning the fact that she’s going to be replaced by an alternative universe version of herself soon 😭

But yeah, Olivia… Oh how we love an extremely competent relentless female character with a tragic backstory that is constantly put in Situations…. I hope they’ll explain how she ended up being experimented on because I have questions……. And yes she keeps bewitching me as fucking expected. And did I mention Anna is great? Anna is really. Really. Great.

I also really like the exploration of damaged father/son relationship they’re doing, that’s definitely not something that happens in media a lot and John and Joshua play it so well. John is crazy good in general. So fucked up and simultaneously so touching.

And what’s up with the bowling alley guy??? I don’t trust him and I don’t trust Nina Sharp get away from Olivia you’re scaring me!!!!

I care less about the sci-fi and “monster of the week”/procedural aspects of the show if I’m completely honest (generally not my cup of tea unless it’s Doctor Who lol), but it’s easily compensated for by the three main characters (especially Olivia and Walter).

Also I saw a gifset which paralleled Olivia/Peter and Helly R./Mark S. and that’s SUCH a delicious dynamic, I can’t wait for s3 (at least I think that’s when it happens in Fringe)

Just a sidenote but it’s so funny to see younger versions of actors I know from other stuff pop up, like Ebon Moss-Bachrach from The Bear and Simone Kessell from Yellowjackets. And when Meghan Markle was there I completely lost it because I haven’t seen any of her acting but know her from her marriage with Harry. Michael Cerveris from Mindhunter gets a special shout-out for obvious reasons lol, as stoic and as bald as ever (the way they cover his eyebrows is hilarious). Aaaaaand seeing John on Severance was wild!!!!!!

Fringe and Mass Effect!

Fringe: 

Favorite Female: Olivia, of course.

Favorite Male: Lincoln Lee! I named my cat after him; you can’t get much more complimentary than that. 

3 Other Favorite Characters: Astrid, Walter, and Peter, with an honorable mention to Broyles, though I’ll never be able to look at him again without thinking of Sylens. 

3 OTPs: Peter/Olivia, Lincoln/Olivia, and…I’m drawing a blank on a third one.

Funniest Character: Walter!

Prettiest Character: Tie between Olivia and Lincoln.

Most Annoying Character: Not that I don’t also love him, but Peter really got on my nerves occasionally, haha.

Most Badass Character: Obviously Olivia, she defines badass.

Character I’d Like as my BFF: Astrid, because she’s so smart and patient and likes coffee.

Female Character I’d Marry: Probably Astrid for the same reasons as above!

Male Character I’d Marry: Have I mentioned Lincoln Lee? The cute nerdy version. The less nerdy version was okay too, but I have the softest spot for the bespectacled one. 

Character I Hate/Dislike: Walternate. I was never all that crazy about William Bell, either, though “hate” is overstating it.

Mass Effect:

Favorite Female: Huge Surprise #1: Commander Shepard.

Favorite Male: Huge Surprise #2: Garrus Vakarian.

3 Other Favorite Characters: Ashley Williams, Tali’zorah vas Normandy, annnnd…I literally don’t know how to choose a third one. I love them all. Kasumi? Legion?

3 OTPs: Shepard/Garrus, Shepard/Garrus, and Shepard/Garrus

Funniest Character: Drunk Tali.

Prettiest Character: Jack.

Most Annoying Character: Harbinger! “This hurts you I know you feel this we fight as one leave the dead where they fall–” SHUT UP SHUT UPPPP

Most Badass Character: Shepard.

Character I’d Like as my BFF: Tali.

Female Character I’d Marry: I’d go for my homegirl Ashley.

Male Character I’d Marry: I’d marry Garrus then divorce him just so I could marry him again

Character I Hate/Dislike: This is an unpopular opinion, but: I don’t like Joker. He just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. Well, a couple reasons, but no need to get into them because, like I said, unpopular.

Like even in normal people land the way Olivia is acting should throw up red flags like. Peter. Darling. I'm not expecting you to immediately assume that your girl has been replaced with a double but I AM absolutely expecting you to notice and be concerned when your girl (who works in a high stress job) starts acting weird after a (series of!) potentially traumatic events.
