It wasn’t a secret that the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers had a crap immune system - at least, not to the adults. It was easy to see the signs; he would often switch his black v-neck undershirt for something thicker - a turtleneck made from wooloo wool - and sometimes even gloves; he would sniffle a lot more - “it’s just weather change” he’d say - and hide sneezes; he’s sneak off to try and sneak in a nap or two during the day - Mollie hardly tried stopping him after that one time he was running an incredibly high fever.
Today seemed like one of those days. He was wearing a dark navy turtleneck under his jacket and had a small throw blanket thrown around his shoulders. Cap was hugged snuggly against his chest as he waddled down the hallway toward the kitchen. Orio caught sight of him first, concern blending with frustration. “Friede, where are you going?” She called out to him and watched him turn sluggishly before his eyebrows furrowed and he looked up. “Kitchen… for…” He trailed off - Arceus, he sounded so congested.
“You, sir, are turning around and heading right back to your room. I’ll get you some food and grab some medicine from Mollie. For now, you go lay down, or so help me.” It didn’t seem like she’d need many more words - Friede mumbled and began wobbling down the hallway back to his room. Orio sighed and finished her trek to the kitchen before grabbing what she’d promised.
Within 10 minutes, she was in Friede’s room, helping him get comfortable in his bed - a bowl of warm soup on the cluttered nightstand and a bottle of cold and flu medicine sitting with the lid next to it. “This is gonna suck, but you need to take this.” She warned, lifting the small cup with the liquid in it to his lips - he’d always had trouble with pills, so liquid was always better. He was clearly feeling really out of it - he took the medicine with no troubles.
The mechanic helped Friede slowly sip at the soup before helping him get comfortable under the covers, Cap curling up on his chest to provide a weighted comfort. The professor was asleep within minutes, with Orio staying to keep watch over him.
