Hey! I hope this week has treated you fine so far. I would like to request platonic guardians of the globe/teen team (including Mark) with a superhero male or gn reader (any power) who is new to the team! I would like the reader to be shy but very brutal when fighting villains! Thank you if you do end up taking this request, have an amazing day/night.

Love Is In The Air
Invincible x m!reader
You were born with your powers, a metal skeleton with claws that slice through everything. Your parents were scared at first, having no idea why you had powers, none of them had any, but the shock didn't stop them from loving you. You are their blood, your powers wouldn't change that.
As you got older, your parents noticed the other aspects of your power. Hightened senses, almost animal-like, and an amazing healing ability, the latter of which they experienced firsthand. When you were younger, you managed to knock over a cup of hot coffee, the contents spilling all over you. As soon as the first cry left your lips, your parents rushed to you, only to see the blisters disappear from your skin in seconds. Though you scared them half to death, it was good to know that you apparently also had a healing factor that prevented serious injuries. Your parents still kept you from getting hurt, just because you healed fast didn't mean you did not feel any pain, and they don't want to see you cry.
As a teenager, you decided to use your powers to protect others. It felt natural to protect the weak. The world government already knew of your existence, the hospital reported it right away after all. Cecil had kept his eye on you, unbeknownst to your parents, and when you showed interest in being a hero, he set up a meeting to formally introduce you into the hero world. At first, you were pretty nervous, almost scared, though you seemed to overcome that whenever you put on your suit. You opted to fully cover your face, which not only protected your identity but also helped you get into the hero "role" better. It was an alter ego for you, one that didn't shy away from the guts you tore apart.
It's been a few years since Cecil recruited you, and so far, you've been doing a great job. Some (you) might say you have a special place in his old heart, seeing as he randomly visits your house from time to time to "check up on you". He wasn't lying when he said it was to check up. You smelled it, though he would never really admit it.
Today, though, he came with a proposition, one you wouldn't turn down. "I want you to join the new guardians of the globe, kid." He looked like he was hoping for an easy yes, though with Cecil, he probably had some way to make you join either way. Luckily, he didn't have to say anything further as you excitedly agreed the second he asked.
While you didn't mind joining the team, you did mind meeting them. First introductions were always awkward, telling them about your powers and all, god, maybe even explaining your name to them. Hopefully, Cecil already gave them some info, it would be such a hassle to do it all by yourself.
Nonetheless, you had to meet them if you were going to work with them. You made your way to the meeting room, following behind Cecil as he ever so cecil-y explained what he expected from you. "Just try to work with them. They're... alright when they listen, and I'm sure they'll warm up to you quickly. Good luck"
As you entered, you heard Robot explain something to the group about "the new arrival". At least they already knew. You stood in front of some curious pairs of eyes, while others almost glared at you, though you couldn't really tell since you avoided all eye contact. Luckily, Cecil took over introducing you. "Everybody, this is your newest teammate, Wolverine. I decided to put him on this team since his way of handling missions is something you all could learn from."
To your luck, they were all very welcoming, almost immediately surrounding you and asking you all sorts of questions. It overwhelmed youto say the least. The sudden attention is all on you. You stuttered out some answers, only replying to maybe half of the questions, before Cecil stepped in. "You can ask them all about their personal info after the meeting. This isn't just some social gathering." After the official meeting, Mark and Amber were practically by your side non-stop. Even when you tried to hide away, someone always found you, unfortunately. It took a while to get used to all the conversation, but you warmed up to them rather quickly. Especially Mark, he seemed the most excited. Rex was a bit... stand-offish at first, though surprisingly, you two managed to build quite the relationship. Usually, he would just start complaining about something Cecil did, and you would simply lend an ear. The others turned out to be just generally good people, fun to be around, and overall quite nice. You might just call them friends.
Training with them was interesting as well. With your healing factor, you were used to injuries, you didn't mind them really, already gotten used to the pain. You held back on using your claws, not really trying to slice anyone in half. You've grown to like everyone, hurting them badly without reason felt wrong. Not to mention, you didn't want to go full-on Wolverine on any of them. Throughout the training, Mark was sure you were always calculating the outcomem maybe that's why Cecil liked you so much, he did say you were very efficient on missions. Maybe he could show off a bit on missions, show how easy he could take down others. Though he didn't really know why he was so focused on proving to you that he really was strong. Everyone knew that. Vilrumite have tougher skin, could lift more, fly faster, but something in him was so obsessed with showing you. Mark liked fighting with you, someone strong and able to keep up with him. Both of you held back, of course, you didn't want to test if your claws slice through Viltrumites, and he would feel bad hurting you, no matter if you healed right away.
The first mission finally arrived: the lizard society attacked a bank, and you were sent to stop them.
"Our first real mission together, you excited?" Mark asked you, a stupidly excited smile on his face. To tell the truth, you were. Unusually so, you could put the blame on fighting with your team for the first time. You didn't want to embarrass yourself in front of them, especially not in front of Mark. Over the time you spend with the team, you two have gotten rather close, especially during training. You two became a pair no one could separate. He brought you out of your shell and helped you overcome some of your fears in talking with the others. Meanwhile, you helped Mark get better at fighting. You simply had much more experience than him, it was honestly surprising how little he knew, especially since Cecil had you professionally trained the moment you joined. Favoritism or whatever Cecil had planned, you used the opportunity to spend more time with Mark, teaching him the ins and outs of combat, strategies, and just overall how to be a better hero.
As you arrived in front of the bank, you made your way inside. Immediately, you were met with a few lizard people. Before the others could even attack, you had already sliced through them, their scaly skin no match for your claws. "Let's go, there are more inside," you simply said, as your teammate stood back in shock. They expected at least some fight, spending at least some moments actually in combat, but you barely even bothered.
True to your words, even more were inside, though they also were dealt with quickly as you cut your way through the attackers. The guardians were surprised, no, astonished at how brutal you simply cut your way through everything. Is this how you always dealt with enemies? They were used to blood and organs flying around, but your way of fighting was so much more barbaric. It was like watching a predator ripping apart its prey. They underestimated you, they were kind of hoping to show off to you, but apparently, that wasn't needed at all.
Mark stood there, watching as you pinned someone to the wall with your claws. He, too, was surprised that his shy little friend was apparently an animal in the field. You're brutal, animalistic, and some part of him liked that very much. God, why was this kinda hot? You were covered in blood, bodies lay all around you, yet somehow Mark could only focus on the way your breath picked up a bit. It's like something primal in him suddenly woke up, like the display of power called out to him. Mark never thought about you that way, until now. Maybe.. maybe he should hang out with you more often. In private.
The mission was over quickly, with the help of the others, though only you were absolutely drenched in blood, not that you minded. Back at the base, you would just take a shower. You patiently waitedfor everyone else to leave, not used to sharing a shower, but the second you hopped in, Mark also stepped in. You were a bit embarrassed, being naked next to someone else was never your forte, but Mark apparently waited for this exact moment. While the mission wasn't particularly strenuous, showering was simply part of your routine, signaling the end of the day.
It wasn't long before you stepped out of the shower, not to mention that you wanted to get out of the awkward situation with Mark as quickly as possible. After putting on your clothes, you felt the tiredness seep into your bones. All of your previous nervousness took all of your energy, you were just about ready to drop. Before you could return to your room, however, Mark appeared right in front of you, blocking your way.
"Nice work out there," he said, a slight blush on his face, probably from the hot shower. "J-just really.. impressive. You know, didn't really know you were that strong." It was a bit obvious that he struggled for words, though he did manage to make you blush a bit. Getting the praise from Mark of all people was just special.
"y-yeah, thanks, I guess" was all that you could stutter out. Mark just looked at you with that stupid, attractive smile on his face. If he had a tail, it would be wagging. In his mind, this was the happiest moment ina long time. He couldn't explain why he suddenly felt so drawn to you, but ever since he saw you during that mission, something primal in him had activated.
After that, he hardly ever left your side, not that he did before, but now he made his affection a bit more obvious. Hugging you extra tight, keeping a hand on you during outings, he seemed to love your personal space very much. The others noticed too, of course, but no one said anything, after all, it was like some puppy love. To Mark, though, this was just the beginning of his newfound obsession, finally showing what else the Viltrumite DNA was capable of.

So this is like my first fic in (looks at calendar) a while, so if this is not as good as my previous ones, it is probably because i need to warm up again.
anyway, i still hope you like this and I will try to actually keep posting :)
thank you for requesting
I love Mark so much, and yes, Viltrumites are attracted to strength and love to show off their strength to their partner.
