Three of the 7 new wonders of the world are in Latin America
In an official statement celebration, held on 07.07.2007 in Lisbon (Portugal), the New 7 Wonders of the World were announced. As you can see, three of the seven new wonders are found in Latin American countries (Brazil, Peru and Mexico). The official list of the New 7 Wonders of the World-The Great Wall of China, "The ruins of Petra, Jordan-The Pyramid of Chichen Itza, Mexico-The Statue of Christ Redeemer, Brazil, The Colosseum, Italy Machu Picchu, Peru, the Taj Mahal, India How were the seven new wonders of the world selected? The campaign to elect the New 7 Wonders of the World was launched in 1999 by Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber. His foundation New7Wonders received about 200 000 nominations from around the world. The distribution took place during the last six years. More than 100 million votes worldwide. Votes were accepted by mobile phone (SMS) and the official website of the New7Wonders campaign official celebration was held in Las t 7 July (interesting that took place on 07/07/07). Many celebrities were invited, including the famous Spanish opera singer Jose Carreras and the U.S. popular idol Jennifer Lopez.
