After a lot of thinking, I'm going to seperate my CARRD into 2 sites (not including the commissions carrd). So my portfolio is now going to be on a completely seperate carrd so it can comprise of not only my digi art + va stuff, but also be my official Art Market/Event portfolio!! Because the art market is very competitive and I feel like not having a dedicated layout for EVENTS is not doing me well.

A good chunk of buttons will still redirect to my main carrd (like the "upcoming events", "about", "contact links", and "catalogue" bc I feel like these things should be easily and obviously accessible to EVERYONE without them having to memorize "ebonytailsportfolio.carrd" vs simply "ebonytails.carrd"

But It's for the best I seperate the portfolio into its own thing now! I'm looking forward to linking this to future events now

And the difference between the events tab on my main carrd VS the events tab on my portfolio carrd is that I'll be including PHYSICAL images of merch and prioritizing that over a complete catalogue—hence the catalogue being on my main site...

Just wanted to share my thought process because this is going to be a big change to something that not a lot of people will notice =)!

I have a friend who got a job in a bakery. They kneeded the dough at the time but the bakery caught on fire and now the business they worked for....is toast.

I think I am really, *truly* learning that going to the hospital everyday is actually so awful. It fills me with more respect for others who do this, and also anger that people expect so much from those who visit the hospital often. It is tiring and so much mental work, because scheduling and balancing that with the limited timing of insurance is very difficult when balancing with anything else that requires so much energy and are just as important to the rest of your life.

The only reason we’ve been able to do this so much is because we are taking much lesser classes than our peers, which means we can just squeeze in hospital visits everyday. If I were taking 5 or more classes…? I would be missing so much work and I would never be able to keep up. Even now, we are on a thin line..

It’s difficult, because we want to keep doing our hobbies that keep us happy and alive- which is doing commissions, boothing in events, voice acting… But we genuinely can not slip in our academics. And we are able to balance this usually, I swear it. But these everyday doctor visits is tilting the scale too much. The routine change is not very great.

If you follow us for our art and voice acting, I highly appreciate you sticking with us for very long, despite our activity being slow in almost all our socials, haha. It has just been very tough recently, and I feel like maybe I may need to explain myself for what other’s may see as a sudden disappearance or lack of action. It is because we are doing so much outside of the internet and it is so tiring.. So I appreciate your patience and support.

PotA: Fall is Over!

This means that this week I’m going to chip through unfinished commissions, thank you so much for your patience!

As my first boothing experience for a big con, this was very special, and I learned a lot! It really melted my heart a lot to see everyone’s reactions to my work, and so much so that they buy them to bring home… Stickers are usually an easy-buy, so it was such a pleasant surprise when on the first day, my first order was someone who bought almost HALF of all the prints I brought!

It was honestly a very lucky experience for me, I think. It was also genuinely an honor to see so many people want to buy physical copies of my art and to trust me with drawing their commission ideas in person!

I met a lot of cool people this weekend, and it was a really different experience from just attending a convention for sure. It’s one thing to take someone’s business card from the otherside of the table, and it’s another to be exchanging them mutually..

I also made back table! It’s made me feel like perhaps a life where I feel fulfilled while being able to do art is actually quite possible :-]! I haven’t been able to make this post for a while, because I feel that there is a lot I can say, but with a mix of exhaustion and also “there is so much I could say”, I get lost! The best part, really was just connecting with people and seeing everyone’s reactions. I am very lucky

I’m not sure how I may be coming off as right now, but I just wanted to do my best to quickly journal how this all feels, so hopefully as I keep doing this in the future, I really don’t lose that spark of why I started in the first place.

We also raised a humble amount for the PCRF! About ₱500! A lot of people refused the extra mini-sticker, and told me to keep the change for various purchases so it can go towards the people in Palestine. It was nice to see.

For the rest of the week, I will be resting and also chipping away at other project slowly as I get back into the groove of things. Thank you so much for supporting us and what we do. It makes what we’ve been worried about a little less scary in life!

Finals are over, hooray!

Not exactly out of the waters yet- as I’ve just now learned of our very dangerous and tight situation at the moment. But that is quite the long story to get into.

As we close off our current trimester to go back to focusing on commissions and personal art for a short time once more, I wanted to take the time again to thank everyone for supporting our artwork. Life is quite unfair to artists of all mediums, but all of you make us feel like we are deserving of life’s joys, even if all you may do is leave a small tag, or a reblog, or a like, even. I wish life was easier so I may say thanks by creating more art- fanart, personal works, and so on, but alas.

Thank you for all these years! If I had the time to livestream as a thank you, I would. =)

Slowing Down Activity…

Hello everyone! Ever since starting this newest trimester, we have been experiencing being in yet again another film making class; this time for post-production. Ever since, we’ve been heavily distracted by needing to focus on college work while trying to balance everything else.

We will still slowly be making our way through commissions despite all this, albeit not int the same speed as before. I really apologize!

For commissioners, I will still get in contact with you eventually if you already came up to me for a slot before. =)

ANON FROM THE ASK YOU POSTED: an interesting bit is we actually can watch/read the media but it has to be AFTER front forgets most of it so it's almost like?? nostalgia?? ig?? or background noise/not the main focus.

we're not canon complacent personality wise, sometimes backstory wise, and also rarely interests wise almost if ever. Vibes wise though yes(it's how we call out the shapeshifters for pretending to be someone else like someone who's essentially technoblade/from that bloodline pretending to be a tommy. Because even if you're a tommy in a Technoblade's role full of war related traumas you'll still give Tommy Vibes.)

the feelings thing we kinda have to battle about because we've been called a robot so much and a lot of our hosts seemed to fall into struggling with their emotions and making sure they're not an item or tool like a robot but a person. Especially since historically emotions are "delayed" in realizing WHAT emotions they're feeling (like the crush "we had" during middle school that took a year or two during high school to realize it was a crush. Way after whoever had those feelings stopped having them.)

I understand having “vibes” and still seeing this person as “that person” kind of introject, haha. It is like… Astrology, for example. The concept of seeing sometimes or almost ‘universal’ identifiers in someone.

And yes, Alexithymia.. I do understand. Do you know that term? We found out about it after looking up Autism things for a while, haha. It can be a struggle. But always you may “act” like a robot, but you really are not, no matter what you are having difficulty with. You are a person.

hilarious bit about the "key to not fanonizing your favs" post: we split SO MANY FICTIVES AND AUS OFF THEM and HARDLY ANY ARE CANON ACCURATE

because 1) they've had time to explore themselves and their identities

2) we survived years of not interacting with source media due to adhd looking at 100+ episodes and 10+ seasons of hermitcraft and being intimidated so we can only micro dose source material. (especially when Techno was alive we loved makings aus and concepts around his dsmp character. survived weeks of no content because of it.)

3) idk WHAT is going on with body but we've had like?? this rule in our system that we cannot watch/read something twice unless to find specific things to send our friends, why is this?? we don't know!! we think it has something to do with the 100+ times we watched how to train your dragon when we were little and loosing the ability to cry over a scene that the first watch made us cry before in that movie(and having similar experiences with other movies and shows like this). it's distressing for some of us that things like that (watching it "too many times") make us unable to experience the distress the scene caused the first time???

For your first point: very interesting! Yes, a lot of us, you could say, are definitely canon-non-compliant. Canon-wise or backstory-wise, we are very compliant. Personality-wise, not always! Kris is a very good example.. His canon is mostly compliant, but.. well, he is such a huge extrovert. He is a social butterfly, and is our "socializer alter" =)

I know what that is like! Both for ADHD reasons, and also for..? other reasons? That are hard to explain, haha. But I find it funny.

I can understand what it is like to no longer show emotions towards something, haha. But it never means that how you felt about it before was never real! It was very real. You can never take that away. That might not be enough, but I promise that you are not strange for "not feeling" something. Over-exposure doesn't mean anything. It is like.. "emotional boredom" =)
