Soulwax - Live @ Sonar Barcelona 2017

The new show with three drummers (including Igor Cavalera of Sepultura fame) and a lot of studio equipment (directed by Stephen and David Dewaele) is getting massive reviews. If you believe the critics, Soulwax were amazing at Sonar, Best Kept Secret, Down The Rabbit Hole and Rock Werchter. This makes them one of the acts to watch this summer.

You can watch the first ten minutes of Soulwax’ show at Sonar above. They start off with ‘Do you want to get into trouble’, followed by a new track that was featured in the recent BBC Essential mix and oldie ‘KracK’.

[Video] Soulwax fragen “Do You Want To Get Into Trouble?”

Soulwax veröffentlichen ihr erstes Video zu ihrem aktuellen Album “FROM DEEWEE” (VÖ 24.03.17 via Play It Again Sam). Für das Video zu “Do You Want To Get Into Trouble?” führte Thomas Subreville von III-Studio Regie. Außerdem ist der französische Schauspieler Phénix Brossard in der Hauptrolle zu sehen. “To continue our longstanding collaboration with Ill-Studio as art directors for our DEEWEE label and the Soulwax album and live show, it felt only normal to give them carte blanche for the first video from our new album. They took the song into an interesting direction and surprised once again.”

Die Wahl der Bilder erklärt der Regisseur wie folgt: "It is about that specific time of life when you imagine being an amplified version of yourself : more rebel, more muscular, more dangerous, more experienced, more good-looking etc. But you are in fact a completely normal teenager in a normal world. This video is our visual interpretation of this idea of duality and contrast between your imagination as a teenager and the world you really live into.”
