Word of the Day #4
Tentiginous.
Adjective. [ten-TIHJ-in-us]
Synonym for 'lascivious' or 'lecherous'. (OED)
From Latin 'tentigo'* (lust) and suffix -nous ('-ful', basically)
17th century.
I thought the older man I was dating was so much better than anyone else I had dated before, but as time went by, I figured out he was just another tentiginous old man.
(*As an aside, the story behind 'tentigo' is interesting. It comes from another Latin root, tendo (to stretch), which in turn is from Proto-Indo-European 'ten-' (also 'to stretch'). This is because of the way the male body reacts when aroused-- which, of course, would be common in a tentiginous fellow. That's why I prefer using 'tentiginous' to using 'lecherous'-- it's more literal. Also, it's from Latin directly, rather than from French as lecherous is. That's just a personal preference.)
Word of the Day #3
Glandaceous
Adjective. [glan-DAY-shus]
Acorn coloured (OED). In other words, a yellowish-brown colour.
From Latin 'glans' (acorn) and suffix -aceous (like/of)
Late 1800s.
Mark admired the glandaceous glow of his wife's freshly baked bread.

Where others only brought ass or face or whatever, she brought all that in a tight little package. She’s got lots of Latin commericals, print, etc on her resume but she’s performed into two hip hop videos. I am sure they won’t be the last. Sally hails out of “Queens” and her family is from the Domincan Republic. Her fam kept a tight hand ...
